[Gastroesophageal reflux disease in Chernobyl cleanup workers in the remote period].

[On mechanisms underlying bronchial obstruction in chronic dust bronchitis in workers of deep coal mines].

Healthy miners demonstrated increased relative levels of lysophosphatidyl choline and especially phosphatidyl inositol subunits. Metabolism of the latter could result in membrane accumulation of inositol triphosphate leading to cytoplasmic calcium increase and to bronchial smooth muscles contraction. Oral 20% choline chloride solution lowers bronchospasm in dust bronchitis patients with decreased serum subunits of phosphatidyl inositol and increased serum levels of phosphatidyl choline.

[Analysis of the preventive activities of medical units in coal mines].

The study is designed to develop and to test the procedure of expert assessment of prophylactic activity of health care units at shop physician's departments in mines. Volume and quality of preventive work greatly influence workers' morbidity rates, hence the logistic support of the shop physician's service is of primary importance. It is emphasized that in order to improve prophylactic activity it is necessary to use all the available resources for enjoying conventional forms of shop's medical service.
