Breast cancer is uncommon in males. Approximately 85 % of male mammary carcinomas are of the infiltrating duct type. One of the uncommon subtypes is oncocytic carcinoma (OC).

Tuberculosis of the submandibular salivary gland is a rare condition and only a few cases have been reported in literature. Tubercular sialadenitis is most frequently seen in immunosuppressed patients. Diagnosis of this disease is difficult.

Fine needle aspiration cytology of benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone: a case report.

Unlabelled: BACKGROUND; Benign fibrous histiocytoma (BFH) of bone is a very rare tumor, and almost all reported cases were diagnosed after surgical resection by histologic examination. We report a case in which cytologic features of BFH of bone were established preoperatively by fine needle aspiration (FNA). To the best of our knowledge, FNA findings of BFH of bone have not been previously reported.

Ultrasound and Doppler findings in a rare case of Castleman's disease of the parotid.

Castleman's disease of the parotid gland is an extremely rare entity, with fewer than 20 cases reported in world literature so far and only 1 previous case report describing the ultrasound findings. The Doppler findings of parotid Castleman's disease have never been described before to the best of the authors' knowledge. This report describes the ultrasonographic and Doppler findings in a histopathologically proven case of Castleman's disease of the left parotid gland in a young man.

Rhinoentomophthoromycosis with mutilation.

Rhinoentomophthoromycosis is a rare subcutaneous zygomycosis. We report a case of rhinoentomophthoromycosis with mutilation, which is an even more unusual phenomenon, and discuss the clinical features and management of this rare dermatosis.

Incidence of thyroid malignancy among goitrous thyroid lesions from the Sarawak General Hospital 2000-2004.

Introduction: Thyroid cancer is the most common among all endocrine malignancies. The worldwide prevalence of goitre in the general population is estimated at 4-7 percent and the incidence of malignancy in goitrous thyroid is about ten percent. It is postulated that goitrous thyroid is a precursor lesion to the development of malignant thyroid diseases.

Ameboma of the colon with amebic liver abscess mimicking metastatic colon cancer.

Amebic colitis is common in developing countries, with its variable and non-specific symptoms. Amebomas occur rarely, resulting from the formation of annular granulation tissue, usually in the cecum and in the ascending colon. This report describes the case of a 59-year-old male who presented with abdominal pain.

Cytodiagnosis of actinomycetoma.

Mycetoma is a late clinical manifestation of a subcutaneous infection produced by bacteria (actinomycetoma) or fungi (eumycetoma). The distinction between eumycetoma and actinomycetoma in Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) is as accurate as histopathology. A 55 year old man presented with a slow growing swelling on the plantar aspect of the right foot which was present for the last 10 years.

Expression of Galectin-3 and Galectin-7 in thyroid malignancy as potential diagnostic indicators.

Introduction: It has been suggested that Galectin-3 (Gal-3) and Galectin-7 (Gal-7) are potential tumour markers for differentiating thyroid carcinoma from its benign counter part. Galectins are beta-galactoside-binding proteins with Gal-3 being a redundant pre-mRNA splicing factor. They are supposed to be p53-related regulators in cell growth and apoptosis, being either anti-apoptotic or pro-apoptotic.

Pure lipoma of the uterus: a rare case report.

Pure fatty tumors of the uterus are exceedingly rare. The more common lipomatous tumor is lipoleiomyoma with varying amounts of two components. Most are post-operative chance findings following hysterectomy for leiomyoma.
