Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by the presence of phosphorylated tau neurofibrillary tangles and extracellular deposits of amyloid beta plaques (Aβ) in the brain. Microglia cells have been proposed to be involved in amyloid plaque formation since activated microglia produce inflammatory cytokines that contribute to a hostile neuronal environment, exacerbating AD pathogenesis.

Method: We aim to evaluate if the pharmacological inhibition of the myeloid/microglial receptor tyrosine kinase AXL, with bemcentinib (BGB) could be used as a novel therapeutic approach for AD.

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in sarcoidosis successfully treated with pembrolizumab.

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is a severe, demyelinating disease of the central nervous system caused by JC virus infection. The disease can be seen in sarcoidosis patients without additional risk factors. Here, we present an individual with PML secondary to sarcoidosis treated with 8 doses of pembrolizumab, a Programmed Cell-Death-1 (PD-1) Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor who showed significant improvement.

Syrian refugees' experiences while receiving mental health services and psychiatric nursing care: A qualitative study.

Aim: This study examined the experiences of Syrian refugees in a community centre in Turkiye as they access mental health services and receive psychiatric nursing care.

Design: A qualitative design was adopted in the study.

Methods: Data were collected from southern Turkiye between November and December 2021.

Are child and parent health behaviors associated with childhood obesity? A descriptive and methodological study.

Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between child and parents' health behaviors and childhood obesity. In addition, an adaptation of the Turkish version of the Family Health Behavior Scale (FHBS) was performed in this study.

Design And Methods: This is a descriptive and methodological study.

An association of the MCP-1 and CCR2 gene polymorphisms with oral lichen planus.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP)-1 CCR2 gene polymorphisms in Turkish patients with oral lichen planus (OLP).

Study Design: A cohort of 50 patients with OLP and 142 control participants without OLP were recruited to investigate the frequency of MCP-1 and CCR2 gene polymorphisms. Chi-square and Fisher's exact tests were used.

The Relationship between Anxiety and Depression Levels with Perceived Stress and Coping Strategies in Health Care Workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Objectives: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has spread rapidly, locally and internationally after it started in Hubei province of China in December 2019. During the spread of this infectious disease in the world, health care workers are taking place as the main people in the screening and treatment of the disease. The present study aims to evaluate the relationship between anxiety and depression levels with perceived stress and coping strategies in health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Comparison of retention forces with various fabrication methods and materials in double crowns.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the retention force changes and wear behaviours of double-crown systems over long-term use.

Materials And Methods: Ten groups, each consisting of six samples, were evaluated. Specifically, casting gold alloy primary crown - casting gold alloy secondary crown (AA), laser sintering primary crown - laser sintering secondary crown (LL), casting Cr alloy primary crown - casting Cr alloy secondary crown, (CC) zirconia primary crown - electroformed secondary crown (ZA), and CAD/CAM titanium alloy primary crown - CAD/CAM titanium alloy secondary crown (TT) groups were evaluated at cone angles of 4° and 6°.
