Objectives: This study aims to assess the prevalence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in mothers affected by the February 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and to explore the influence of spiritual well-being and other factors on their Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) levels.
Methods: The study's sample consisted of mothers invited to participate voluntarily through online social media platforms between October-December 2023. The Mother Information Form, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Control List, Post-Traumatic Growth Scale, and Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS) were used as data collection instruments.
Purpose: In chemotherapy process, the innovative and educational roles of nurses come to the forefront so that children can manage the symptoms they will encounter and thus increase their quality-of-life. Therefore, a tablet game was developed by the authors of this study to evaluate the effect of training children aged 10-16 who receive chemotherapy by a tablet game and a booklet on symptom management and quality-of-life.
Methods: This was a non-randomized pre and post-test control group study.
Background: Creating a womb-like environment for the preterm infant is vital to reduce the stress caused by stimuli and facilitate optimal neurological-behavioral development.
Purpose: This randomized-controlled study aimed to determine the effect of simulative heartbeat nest use on vital signs, pain level, and comfort in preterms.
Methods: The study population consisted of 52 (experiment: 25, control: 27) preterms hospitalized in a university hospital's neonatal intensive care unit between May-November 2018.
Objective: To investigate the effect of sunflower seed oil (SSO) and almond oil (AO) on stratum corneum hydration and Neonatal Skin Condition Scores (NSCSs) of preterm infants.
Methods: This randomized controlled trial recruited 90 preterm infants whose gestational ages were between 32 and 37 weeks in the neonatal ICU. Infants were randomly assigned to three groups (SSO, AO, or control).
Objective: Caring for a sick child can lead to considerable burden in the caregiver. Comparative studies of burden in mothers of children with different types of disorders are rare.
Methods: We assessed levels of and risk factors for burden in mothers of children with leukemia (n: 70) or with cerebral palsy (CP) (n: 69).
Purpose: This was a qualitative study conducted to explore the views of nurses regarding the practice of family-centered care (FCC).
Design And Methods: Eighteen nurses working in different units of a children's hospital in Turkey were included in the study. In-depth interviews were conducted with the nurses to obtain detailed information about their perspectives on FCC activities.
