Introduction Health-related quality of life (HR-QoL) is recognized as an important predictor of mortality and morbidity in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients receiving hemodialysis (HD). The goal of this study was to obtain HR-QoL scores using the Kidney Disease and Quality of Life questionnaire (KDQOL-36) (RAND Corporation, Santa Monica, CA) and to assess the factors affecting HR-QoL in ESRD patients receiving HD. Methods A multicenter cross-sectional study was performed using the KDQOL-36 for the assessment of HR-QoL of ESRD patients receiving HD in Northern Cypriot state hospitals.

Methods: The study sample consisted of 220 undergraduate nursing students.
In continuation of our efforts to develop new derivatives as hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS5B inhibitors, we synthesized novel 5-arylidene-4-thiazolidinones. The novel compounds 29-42, together with their synthetic precursors 22-28, were tested for HCV NS5B inhibitory activity; 12 of these compounds displayed IC50 values between 25.3 and 54.
