This article describes the data acquired during the first test activity carried out in the Reliable Electromechanical actuator for PRImary SurfacE with health monitoring (REPRISE) H2020 project. The data consist of a set of measures from an Electro-Mechanical Actuator (EMA) employed in small aircrafts, such as phase currents, positions, temperature and loads. A test bench was developed to perform endurance sessions in various loads and working conditions.

The measurements are conducted in several independent laboratories in Europe and North America. The studied acoustical characteristics are the surface complex acoustic impedance at normal incidence and plane wave absorption coefficient which are determined using the standard impedance tube method.

The purpose of this paper is to study the acoustic behavior of highly heterogeneous, low density porous structures having a complex pore size distribution using two distinct theoretical approaches. The first approach requires the direct numerical integration of the Biot viscosity correction function. The main requirement here is a knowledge of the probability density function of the pore size, which can be achieved by an optical pore-counting technique.
