Background: The FIGO Working Group (FWG) in Pelvic Floor Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (2012-2015) established a consensus among international opinion leaders in evaluating current evidence and providing practice recommendations.
Objectives: To provide an update of the previous clinical opinion report on conservative and surgical treatment of posterior compartment prolapse.
Search Strategy: Search of evidence was performed using Pubmed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases up to August 2018.
Aim: Apical prolapse includes descent of the uterus, vagina cuff, or rarely solely of the cervix. It is estimated that women have an 11-19% life-time risk of undergoing surgery for POP. This rate is projected to increase over the next 2-3 decades.

Pathologists were informed of the results of preoperative clinical/instrumental assessment of all patients.

For all patients, we recorded: general features, preoperative SUI risk factors, obstetrics history, preoperative urodynamic tests, intraoperative/postoperative complications, number of postoperative sling regulations, postmicturition residue, and hospital stay. All patients were asked to complete the validated short version of the Urogenital Distress Inventory (UDI-6) questionnaire 18 months after discharge to evaluate the efficacy of the TOA system.

Purpose: To evaluate the effects of oestrogen plus progestogen therapy (EPT) on the lipid metabolism of menopausal patients.
Methods: We conducted a prospective study on 223 patients with clinical and blood chemistry diagnosis of menopause, who were eligible for hormone therapy and a follow-up period lasting at least 5 years. We selected a control group.
Objective: We analysed the impact on caesarean section (CS) rate of introducing a routine trial of labour (TOL) for patients with a previous CS.
Study Design: During 2007 and 2008, we offered a TOL to all women with one previous CS planning to give birth in our hospital. The adherence to the procedure, success of vaginal delivery, overall CS rate, incidence of symptomatic uterine rupture and other complications were evaluated.
