Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is an important regulator of angiogenesis and has been identified as an autocrine growth factor for neoplastic cells of several tumors. The aim of this study was to evaluate VEGF expression in canine mast cell tumors and their respective lymph node metastases. For this purpose, 28 patients with mast cell tumors and confirmed regional lymph node metastasis were selected.

Methods: A public dataset comprising 41 radiomic features and 535 patients was employed to assess the potential of radiomics in distinguishing between primary lung tumors and metastases. Each participant developed two classification models using: (i) all features (base model); (ii) only robust features (robust model).

Here we carried out an observational epidemiological analysis of oral HPV incidence in 3,137 men enrolled from the United States, Mexico and Brazil between 2005 and 2009.

Automated analysis of flow cytometry data can improve objectivity and reduce analysis time but has generally required work by software and algorithm experts. Here, we investigated the performance of BD ElastiGate™ Software (hereafter ElastiGate), which allows users to automate gating by selecting gated training files, then uses elastic image registration to gate new files. Three assays of increasing complexity were examined: TBNK, stem cell enumeration (SCE), and lymphoid screening tube (LST).

Background: Nipple delay (ND) is a staged procedure that improves nipple-areolar complex (NAC) viability in nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) patients who are high-risk for NAC or skin-flap necrosis. Developing an ensemble machine learning study: Insights from a multi-center proof-of-concept study.

Background: To address the numerous unmeet clinical needs, in recent years several Machine Learning models applied to medical images and clinical data have been introduced and developed. Even when they achieve encouraging results, they lack evolutionary progression, thus perpetuating their status as autonomous entities. A 2-year-old female neutered Ragdoll was presented for signs consistent with extrahepatic biliary tract obstruction (EHBO), including jaundice, hyporexia and lethargy. Marked progressive hyperbilirubinemia and mild anaemia were also present.

Anal human papillomavirus (HPV) disagreement by Linear Array compared to SPF10 PCR-DEIA-LiPA25 system in young sexual minority men.

Introduction: Young sexual minority men (SMM) bear the greatest burden of anal human papillomavirus (HPV) infections. We assessed anal HPV genotype discordance between the Linear Array (LA) and SPF10 PCR-DEIA-LiPA25 (LiPA25).

Methods: Discordance was assessed between LA and LiPA25 using self-collected anal swabs from 120 SMM aged 18-29 who were recruited in 2014-2016.
