Aims And Objectives: To develop a model of understanding of how rheumatoid arthritis (RA) affects daily life based on a third-order interpretation of qualitative findings.
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic condition subject to a progressive deterioration of joints, limiting the ability to move and causing severe impairment in patients' lives.
Design: A qualitative metasynthesis.
The positive effects of meditation on individual well-being have been extensively investigated in the last few decades. The impact that meditation can have on the surrounding environment, including on the well-being of nearby non-meditators, has been mainly studied in regards to Transcendental Meditation and, more recently, through the purported phenomenon of "distant healing". The aim of the present study was to observe how a corporate environment would be affected when a small percentage of their employees meditated together.

Psychological and psychosocial factors have long been linked to cardiovascular disease. These psychosocial factors, including low socioeconomic status, social support/isolation, stress and distress, personality, and sleep disturbance increase risk of cardiovascular events and negatively impact quality of life. These factors may have direct effects on cardiovascular disease via immune or neuroendocrine pathways, or more indirect effects, by, for example, limiting adherence to recommended therapies and cardiac rehabilitation.
