Background And Objective: Management of a long proximal ureteral stricture is challenging. Buccal mucosal graft (BMG) ureteroplasty is a reliable technique for ureteral reconstruction that avoids the morbidity of bowel interposition or autotransplantation. We compared open and robotic BMG ureteroplasty in a two-center study.

Methods: In this retrospective single-center study, we considered all consecutive patients admitted to the ER from February 2019 to February 2023 for ASBO with an available contrast-enhanced CT scan performed at diagnosis and treated with conservative management. The investigated CT findings were type and location of transition zone, ASBO degree, fat notch sign, beak sign, small bowel feces sign, presence of peritoneal free fluid and pneumatosis intestinalis.
Introduction: Consensus for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) in pediatrics has been achieved in neonatal intestinal surgery, yet it is not widely utilized in pediatric urology. We investigated the application of ERAS guidelines in pediatric urology, and determined its effects given the available level of evidence supporting the ERAS protocol in children.
Evidence Acquisition: A systematic literature review including series providing adoption of fast-track recovery protocols for pediatric urology procedures was carried out.
Background: Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography using Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA PET/CT) is notable for its superior sensitivity and specificity in detecting recurrent PCa and is under investigation for its potential in pre-treatment staging. Despite its established efficacy in nodal and metastasis staging in trial setting, its role in primary staging awaits fuller validation due to limited evidence on oncologic outcomes. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to appraise the diagnostic accuracy of PSMA PET/CT compared to CI for comprehensive PCa staging.

Our objective was to describe the step-by-step technique of Florence intracorporeal neobladder (FloRIN) configuration performed with stentless procedure focusing on perioperative and mid-term functional outcomes.
Materials And Methods: In this single institution prospective randomized 1:1 series all consecutive patients underwent Robot-Assisted Radical Cystectomy (RARC) and FloRIN reconfiguration from January 2021 to March 2021 were enrolled.
Introduction: The aim of the study was to investigate clinical and surgical factors associated with early catheter replacement in patients treated with Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP).
Materials And Methods: Data of patients treated with HoLEP at our Institution by a single surgeon from March 2017 to January 2021 were collected. Preoperative variables, including non-invasive uroflowmetry and abdominal ultrasonography (US), were recorded.
African swine fever (ASF) is a severe haemorrhagic infectious disease affecting suids, thus representing a great economic concern. Considering the importance of the early diagnosis, rapid point of care testing (POCT) for ASF is highly demanded. In this work, we developed two strategies for the rapid onsite diagnosis of ASF, based on Lateral Flow Immunoassay (LFIA) and Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA) techniques.

The inflicted damage to progenitor cells and local microcirculation makes it more likely that wounds, infections, and fibrosis may occur; lesions of variable severity often co-exist. Acute erythema, hyperpigmentation, and mild desquamation usually wane in weeks and require only minor treatment.

Materials And Methods: Data from patients treated with HoLEP at our academic referral center from March 2017 to January 2021 were prospectively collected. Patients were divided according to their CCI (Charlson Comorbidity Index).
Purpose: The present study sought to provide reproducible and patient-oriented metrics to assess the rate of "successful" outcomes (Trifecta) following holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). Clinical and surgical predictors of failure to achieve Trifecta were investigated.
Materials And Methods: We queried our prospectively collected database of all patients treated with HoLEP between March 2017 and January 2021.
Introduction: The clinical management of pT3a pathologic-upstaged renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients is actually controversial. Aim of this study was i) to assess the impact of pT3a upstaging on oncologic outcomes after robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) for cT1-T2 RCC; ii) to explore clinical and surgical predictors of pT3a upstaging; iii) to evaluate the differential impact of perinephric fat invasion (PFI) or sinus fat invasion (SFI) on survival outcomes after RAPN in case of upstaged pT3a RCC.
Materials And Methods: Clinical and surgical data from consecutive RCCs treated with RAPN in a single referral centre between January 2017 and June 2021 were prospectively collected and retrospectively reviewed.
Gut represents a major immunological defense barrier with mucosal immune system and intestinal epithelial cells (IECs). In all intestinal diseases, in particular inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), both the absorption and the local immune system are compromised and alternative effective therapies are sought after. Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) have the capability to regulate immune cells within the inflammatory microenvironment, by dampening inflammation and restoring intestinal barrier integrity.

Searches for the lepton number violating K^{+}→π^{-}μ^{+}e^{+} decay and the lepton flavor violating K^{+}→π^{+}μ^{-}e^{+} and π^{0}→μ^{-}e^{+} decays are reported using data collected by the NA62 experiment at CERN in 2017-2018. No evidence for these decays is found and upper limits of the branching ratios are obtained at 90% confidence level: B(K^{+}→π^{-}μ^{+}e^{+})<4.2×10^{-11}, B(K^{+}→π^{+}μ^{-}e^{+})<6.

We queried our prospective database for patients with HCC staged with C-choline PET/CT to assess the clinical impact of this imaging modality. Seven parameters were recorded: maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), mean standardized uptake value (SUVmean), liver standardized uptake value (SUVliver), metabolic tumor volume (MTV), photopenic area, metabolic tumor burden (MTB = MTVxSUVmean), and SUVratio (SUVmax/SUVliver).

We measured RTL in cfDNA of 40 EC patients (65 ± 12 years) and 31 healthy controls (HC) (63 ± 13 years), excluding in both groups other oncologic and severe non-oncologic diseases to limit confounders. Circulating cfDNA was extracted from serum using the QIAamp DNA Blood Mini kit (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany).

To date, biotypes (BTs) 1A have been considered as non-pathogenic, because they do not express plasmid of virulence pYV; however, BTs 1A strains present other chromosomic virulence genes and recent studies suggest an implication of this microorganism in reactive arthritis.

While the role of local immune response mediated by CD3+ tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes is well-established, new evidence on systemic inflammation and cancer, such as neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), is emerging. The aim of this study is to seek an association between the CD3+ lymphocytes and NLR with patients' prognosis and possibly stratifying it accordingly.

The aim of this study was to compare the effects of immediate vs. delayed application of NPT on outcomes in patients with IAIs after colonic perforation.

In an attempt to achieve an early diagnosis, many studies have identified some putative biomarkers for gynecologic cancers, including circulating microRNAs (miRs) and aberrant promoter methylation status. Previous studies which have investigated miR-203 expression profiles in EC tissues and normal endometrial tissues concluded that miR-203 is regulated by methylation promoter.
