Transcription factors play key roles in cell fate specification and cell differentiation. Previously, we showed that the LIM homeodomain factor CEH-14 is expressed in the AFD neurons where it is required for thermotaxis behavior in Caenorhabditis elegans. Here, we show that ceh-14 is expressed in the phasmid sensory neurons, PHA and PHB, a number of neurons in the tail, i.

However, the intracellular pathways, which regulate maturation and secretion of IL-1 in keratinocytes, are unknown. Here we show that the UVB-mediated enhancement of cytoplasmic Ca(2+) is required for activation of the IL-1beta-converting enzyme caspase-1 by the inflammasome, a multiprotein innate immune complex [3, 4].

In this study, we identified novel binding partners of FGF-BP, and we provide evidence for a role of this protein in epithelial repair processes. We show that expression of FGF-BP increases after injury to murine and human skin, in particular in keratinocytes.
