Indoor Air Quality Improvement Using Nature-Based Solutions: Design Proposals to Greener Cities.

Low indoor air quality is an increasingly important problem due to the spread of urbanization. Because people spend most of their time inside, poor indoor air quality causes serious human health issues, resulting in significant economic losses. In this work, the current state of affairs is presented and analyzed, focusing on the current problems and the available solutions to improve the quality of indoor air, and the use of nature-based solutions.

Measuring Health Vulnerability: An Interdisciplinary Indicator Applied to Mainland Portugal.

Health promotion and inequality reduction are specific goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, which are interconnected with several dimensions of life. This work proposes a composite index -socioeconomic health vulnerability index-to address Portuguese population socioeconomic determinants that affect health outcomes. Variables composing are aligned with the sustainable development goals considering data and times series availability to enable progress monitoring, and variables adequacy to translate populations' life conditions affecting health outcomes.

PLD bioactive ceramic films: the influence of CaO-P2O5 glass additions to hydroxyapatite on the proliferation and morphology of osteblastic like-cells.

This work consists on the evaluation of the in vitro performance of Ti6Al4V samples PLD (pulsed laser deposition) coated with hydroxyapatite, both pure and mixed with a CaO-P2O5 glass. Previous studies on immersion of PLD coatings in SBF, showed that the immersion apatite films did not present the usual cauliflower morphology but replicated the original columnar structure and exhibited good bioactivity. However, the influence of glass associated to hydroxyapatite concerning adhesion, proliferation and morphology of MG63 cells on the films surface was unclear.
