The literature has well documented the relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences, personality traits, and well-being. However, less is known about how Benevolent Childhood Experiences (BCEs) relate to "light" personality traits and Flourishing. The study analyzed the effects of BCEs on Flourishing, considering the mediator role of Light Triad traits (Kantianism, Humanism, and Faith in Humanity).

Parent-Based Prevention of Bullying and Cyberbullying During COVID-19 Social Distancing: A Pilot Intervention using the MOST Framework.

Parenting skills are important protective factors in the prevention of bullying and cyberbullying, yet few parent-based interventions have been developed and evaluated in this area. This pilot study examined participant responsiveness to and acceptability of an evidence-based parenting curriculum enhanced to address bullying and cyberbullying. Enhancements included intensive role playing, social emotional coaching, and media parenting.

The Dosage, Context, and Modality of Interventions to Prevent Cyberbullying Perpetration and Victimization: a Systematic Review.

Past reviews of cyberbullying preventative interventions have critiqued the field regarding scientific rigor, and a meta-analysis found that randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of such interventions were more effective than non-RCTs. However, no review has examined the risk of bias, dosage, modality, and delivery context of such programs to date. The current study addresses this gap through a systematic review of the literature.

Implementation of Postpartum Depression Screening for Women Participating in the WIC Program.

Introduction: The national average for the occurrence of postpartum depression (PPD) is 11.5%. Women enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program are at an elevated risk for PPD symptoms due to risk factors such as a low income, unemployment, low education level, and younger maternal age.

Colonization by Streptococcus pneumoniae among human immunodeficiency virus-infected adults: prevalence of antibiotic resistance, impact of immunization, and characterization by polymerase chain reaction with BOX primers of isolates from persistent S. pneumoniae carriers.

Pharyngeal colonization by Streptococcus pneumoniae was evaluated in 103 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected subjects (<200 CD4 cells/microL, 57; > or = 200 CD4 cells/microL, 46) and 39 non-HIV-infected controls who were participants in a vaccine study. At baseline, 7%, 20%, and 10% of subjects in the <200 and > or = 200 CD4 cell groups and in the control group were colonized with S. pneumoniae: Rates at 6 months were 23%, 22%, and 0%, respectively.

In vitro antimicrobial effect against Streptococcus pneumoniae of adding rifampin to penicillin, ceftriaxone, or 1-ofloxacin.

Adding rifampin to penicillin or l-ofloxacin diminished the rate at which these antibiotics killed 21 clinical isolates isolates of Streptococcus pneumoniae in vitro. A less pronounced inhibitory effect was observed when rifampin was added to ceftriaxone. Synergy was not observed for any bacterial isolate.

Antimicrobial activities of beta-lactam antibiotics and gentamicin against penicillin-susceptible and penicillin-resistant pneumococci.

The MICs of penicillin and cefotaxime for a range of penicillin-susceptible and penicillin-resistant isolates of Streptococcus pneumoniae were unchanged by the addition of gentamicin. In time-kill studies the rate of killing was greater for 18 of 20 isolates in the presence of gentamicin. However, mean differences in killing after 6 h of incubation were modest, not exceeding 1 log10 unit.
