[Impact of voxelotor on hemoglobin electrophoretic and chromatographic profiles].

Voxelotor (GBT440, OXBRYTA®) appeared recently as one of the possible treatments for sickle cell disease. This molecule, by binding the alpha globin of hemoglobin, causes hyperaffinity of the latter for oxygen and reduces its polymerization properties. Several therapeutic trials have been able to show its effectiveness on certain aspects of sickle cell disease; thus, the french HAS (High Authority of Health) college issued an early access authorization and, since 2021, this treatment can be offered to patients under a temporary authorization for use.

Adherence to and patient's knowledge of self-management of subcutaneous biologic therapy in chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases: results of a multicentre cross-sectional study.

Objectives: Non-adherence to biologic therapy is an issue in chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases (CIRDs) and might be related to poor patient knowledge of the risk of these therapies. Our aim here was to evaluate the level of patient adherence to and knowledge of self-care safety skills for biologic therapy.

Methods: This was a multicentre, cross-sectional study in which out-patients visited an office- or hospital-based rheumatologist.

Objectives: Nowadays, the recommended measures for optimal monitoring of axial Spondyloarthritis (ax-SpA) disease activity are either BASDAI and CRP, or ASDAS-CRP. However, there could be a gap between recommendations and daily practice. We aimed to determine the measures collected by rheumatologists in an ax-SpA follow-up visit, and to determine the impact of a meeting (where rheumatologists reached a consensus on the measures to be collected) on the collection of such measures.

Continuous monitoring of haemoglobin concentration after in-vivo adjustment in patients undergoing surgery with blood loss.

Non-invasive monitoring of haemoglobin concentration provides real-time measurement of haemoglobin concentration (SpHb) using multi-wavelength pulse co-oximetry. We hypothesised that in-vivo adjustment using the mean of three haemoglobinometer (HemoCue®) measurements from an arterial blood sample at the first SpHb measurement (HCueART) would increase the accuracy of the monitor. The study included 41 adults for a total of 173 measurements of haemoglobin concentration.

Performance of conducting polymer electrodes for stimulating neuroprosthetics.

Objective: Recent interest in the use of conducting polymers (CPs) for neural stimulation electrodes has been growing; however, concerns remain regarding the stability of coatings under stimulation conditions. These studies examine the factors of the CP and implant environment that affect coating stability. The CP poly(ethylene dioxythiophene) (PEDOT) is examined in comparison to platinum (Pt), to demonstrate the potential performance of these coatings in neuroprosthetic applications.

[A medical-pharmaceutical partnership model as a contributor to the success in conditioning regimen for allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in adults: a cross-reflection on our organizations].

To enable self-determination and participation equal with others for persons with disabilities, the social insurance agencies involved in rehabilitation provide benefits for rehabilitation and participation. In order to initiate and perform those benefits individually and purposively, it is necessary to detect and assess a potential need early across social insurance agencies. This requirement was strengthened by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Oxazaphosphorines: new therapeutic strategies for an old class of drugs.

Importance Of The Field: The oxazaphosphorines (cyclophosphamide, ifosfamide and trofosfamide) are widely used in clinical practice for their antitumor and immunomodulatory activities. However, their use is associated with toxicities. The metabolism of oxazaphosphorines involves cytochrome P450 biotransformations, leading to highly reactive metabolites such as acrolein and chloroacetaldehyde responsible for urotoxicity, neurotoxicity and nephrotoxicity.

Professional practice assessment in ambulatory private rheumatology: a pilot evaluation of the medical file content for rheumatoid arthritis.

The purpose of this study was to compare two randomized series of ACL reconstructions, one using an intra-articular method (patellar tendon autograft) and the other an intra- and extra-articular method (Mac-InJones).

Material And Methods: From January 1995 to March 1998, 63 knees underwent surgery for ACL reconstruction.
