Objectives: To analyse the effects on respiratory function, lung volume and the regional distribution of ventilation and perfusion of routine postural repositioning in mechanically ventilated critically ill patients.

Methods: Prospective descriptive physiological study. We evaluated gas-exchange, lung mechanics, and Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) determined end-expiratory lung impedance and regional ventilation and perfusion distribution in five body positions: supine-baseline (S1); first lateralisation at 30° (L1); second supine position (S2), second contralateral lateralisation (L2) and third final supine position (S3).

Background And Purpose: The aim was to estimate the cost of the external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) in public health care centers in Catalonia (Spain), according to the ESTRO-HERO costing model for 2018.

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is an emerging technology for the non-invasive monitoring of regional distribution of ventilation and perfusion, offering real-time and continuous data that can greatly enhance our understanding and management of various respiratory conditions and lung perfusion. Its application may be especially beneficial for critically ill mechanically ventilated patients. Despite its potential, clear evidence of clinical benefits is still lacking, in part due to a lack of standardization and transparent reporting, which is essential for ensuring reproducible research and enhancing the use of EIT for personalized mechanical ventilation.

We report a retrospective case series describing the feasibility and outcomes of combined 27-G minimally invasive vitrectomy surgery (MIVS) and Ahmed® Glaucoma Valve (AGV) placement. Four eyes of four patients underwent a combined MIVS using 27-G technology and AGV implantation with the tube placement in the vitreous cavity. Preoperative and postoperative data up to 12 months were collected including the type of glaucoma, intraocular pressure (IOP), glaucoma medications, and complications.

Intensity-modulated radiotherapy has been widely used routinely in recent past years for post-operative radiotherapy of salivary gland cancers Because of the sharp dose fall off outside of target volumes with IMRT, each volume must be strictly and rigorously defined, as the areas not specifically included in the target volume will not be treated to a therapeutic dose. Lessons Learned: Cemiplimab in combination with radiation therapy, cyclophosphamide, and granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor did not demonstrate efficacy above what can be achieved with other PD-1 inhibitor monotherapies in patients with refractory and metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. The safety profile of cemiplimab combination therapy was consistent with previously reported safety profiles of cemiplimab monotherapy. No new safety signal was observed.

Early detection of small-magnitude faults in anaerobic digestion (AD) processes is a mandatory step for preventing serious consequence in the future. Since volatile fatty acids (VFA) accumulation is widely suggested as a process health indicator, a VFA soft-sensor was developed based on support vector machine (SVM) and used for generating the residuals by comparing real and predicted VFA.
