Purpose: This study has two objectives: (1) to identify the indicators of the nursing outcome "Knowledge: Wound management (3209)" related to the evaluation of knowledge about the care of surgical wounds; (2) to translate and culturally adapt the nursing outcome "Knowledge: Wound management (3209)" into Brazilian Portuguese and Colombian Spanish.

Methods: This is a methodological study with two steps. Initially, a scoping review was conducted based on the methodology of the Joanna Briggs Institute.

Introduction: The periwound skin influences the evolution of the wound. Among the mechanisms that affect it are the wound's own exudate and the use of therapeutic support devices.

Objective: The objective of this scoping review is to map out topical products that have been implemented and evaluated for either the protection or treatment of injuries caused by exudate or the use of adhesives or therapeutic dressings on the periwound skin of acute or chronic wounds.
