Objective: The surgical treatment of Eagle syndrome involves an intra- or extraoral approach. This systematic review set out to consolidate current knowledge on the prevalence of complications associated with intraoral and external approaches.

Methods: Seven main electronic and two gray literature databases were searched.

Directions of mandibular canal displacement in ameloblastoma: A computed tomography mirrored-method analysis.

Purpose: This study was performed to investigate mandibular canal displacement in patients with ameloblastoma using a 3-dimensional mirrored-model analysis.

Materials And Methods: The sample consisted of computed tomographic scans of patients with ameloblastoma (n=10) and healthy controls (n=20). The amount of mandibular canal asymmetry was recorded as a continuous variable, while the buccolingual (yaw) and supero-inferior (pitch) directions of displacement were classified as categorical variables.

Successful Management of Ludwig's Angina due to Dental Implant Displacement: A Rare Case Report.

Dental implant surgery is a common procedure in oral and maxillofacial surgery practices. Extensive training, skill, and experience allow this procedure to be performed with an atraumatic approach, but like any surgical technique, it is subject to accidents and complications. This is an unusual clinical case of an accidental displacement of an implant into the submandibular space that progressed to Ludwig's angina, and it has not yet been described in the literature.

Glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC) is an uncommon cyst of the jaw. Less than 200 cases are reported in the literature, and only 22 cases are associated with an unerupted tooth (dentigerous relationship). Although it is an asymptomatic lesion, it can be destructive and has high recurrence rates.

Lower-level laser therapy improves neurosensory disorders resulting from bilateral mandibular sagittal split osteotomy: a randomized crossover clinical trial.

Bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) is a technique commonly used to correct mandibular disproportion but many patients experience hypoaesthesia of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN). The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of using a low-level laser therapy protocol after BSSO. The 10 patients in our study, who underwent BSSO with Le Fort I osteotomy and had low-level laser therapy on one side of the jaw, were evaluated over a period of 60 days.
