Purpose: To determine by a spectrophotometric analysis the variations in color between the intended and the fabricated shades of three different porcelain systems when applied in a standardized thickness on a zirconia core.
Methods: Three porcelain systems for zirconia based restorations, Ivoclar IPS e.max Ceram, VITA VM9, and Creation Zi-F were tested.
Purpose: To evaluate the influence of airborne-particle abrasion of zirconia before and after sintering, on the bond strength between a zirconia core and an indirect resin composite material.
Methods: 9 disks of Y-TZP zirconia core were prepared and divided into three equal groups. In Group 1 pre-sintered Y-TZP zirconia was airborne-particle abraded with 120 microm alumina oxide.

Purpose: The distribution of stresses in bone, implants, and prosthesis were analyzed via three-dimensional finite element modeling in different implant configurations for a fixed implant-supported prosthesis in an edentulous mandible.
Materials And Methods: A finite element model was created with data obtained from computed tomographic scans of a human mandible. Anisotropic characteristics for cortical and cancellous bone were incorporated into the model.
Purpose: This study investigated the microtensile bond strength of three different ceramic veneering systems to one type of zirconia substrate.
Methods: Bilayered zirconia veneer discs were fabricated of a LAVA zirconia core and three different veneering ceramics (VITA VM9, Lava Ceram, Creation ZI) using a conventional layering technique. Discs were cut into microbars of 6 mm x 1 mm x 1 mm.
Purpose: The study evaluated in vitro the retention force and the wear resistance over simulated function of four matrix components of ball attachments for implant-retained overdentures.
Materials And Methods: Four types of matrices for ball attachments were evaluated in a fatigue study simulating 5500 cycles of insertion and removal. The matrices used were (1) a Teflon matrix supported by a metal housing, (2) a titanium matrix, (3) a gold alloy matrix, (4) an O-ring matrix using the red color ring for medium retention.
Purpose: To determine by a spectrophotometric analysis the variations in color between the fabricated shade of four different porcelain systems and the intended shade when applied in a set thickness.
Methods: Four porcelain systems (Duceram Kiss, VITA Omega, Wieland Reflex, Ivoclar IPS d.SIGN) for metal ceramic restorations were selected.
Background: A prospective clinical study was conducted to evaluate clinically and radiographically the performance of two implants immediately loaded supporting a ball attachment-retained mandibular overdenture.
Materials And Methods: Seventeen completely edentulous patients were included in the study. Each patient received two implants inserted after a minimal flap reflection and no vestibular extension in order to reduce the postoperative swelling and facilitate immediate prosthesis connection.
