- Purified surfactin and mycosubtilin stimulated grapevine innate immune responses by activating different signaling pathways, while plipastatin only initiated early signaling.
- This study reveals that mycosubtilin can trigger plant immune responses and demonstrates that surfactin and mycosubtilin provide enhanced resistance to the necrotrophic pathogen Botrytis cinerea in grapevine leaves.
Development and optimisation of alternative strategies to reduce the use of classic chemical inputs for protection against diseases in vineyard is becoming a necessity.
