Systemic mastocytosis presenting as cardiac tamponade with CD25(+) pericardial mast cells.

In this first-in-literature case, we describe a patient with Systemic mastocytosis presenting with life-threatening cardiac tamponade associated with the presence of aberrant mast cells in the pericardium. Procedures involving surgical incisions through the pericardium in such cases can lead to uncontrolled mast cell degranulation leading to circulatory collapse.

5-Azacitidine Monotherapy Followed by Related Haploidentical Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Achieves Durable Remission in a Pediatric Patient With Acute Undifferentiated Leukemia Refractory to High-Dose Chemotherapy.

Patients with acute leukemias of undifferentiated lineage (AUL) generally have guarded prognosis. Here, we describe the first reported pediatric patient with AUL refractory to high-dose chemotherapy who achieved clinical remission with ALL maintenance therapy and 5-azacitidine. His induction remission was followed by consolidation with reduced toxicity haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT).

Port-site recurrence in a patient undergoing robotic hysterectomy and lymph node dissection for endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the uterus.

•We present a case of port-site recurrence of endometrioid adenocarcinoma after robotic hysterectomy and staging.•Port-site recurrence is commonly an indicator of multifocal disease with poor prognosis.•Surgical techniques that decrease the risk of this complication should be implemented.
