Objective: To evaluate the thermal effects of a 970 nm diode laser and select the modes necessary for the safe and effective use of this laser to reduce the nasal septum elevation (NSB) in volume in vitro.
Material And Methods: Laser exposure was carried out through a quartz fiber with a diameter of 400 μm in a continuous contact mode at a power from 2 W to 10 W with a step of 2 W. Three linear cuts 1 cm long were applied to the specimens.
