Aim: To evaluate the perception of social support in a sexual minority and to associate it with the risk of drug addiction.

Method: Cross-sectional study, with 254 self-declared gay, bisexual, lesbian, or transsexual participants in the city of Fortaleza, between October and December 2019. Data analyzed by descriptive statistics and likelihood ratio tests.

Objective: to analyze nonverbal communication between nurse and parturient during the active phase of labor in two Portuguese-speaking countries.

Method: a quantitative and analytical study, whose sample consisted of 709 interactions that used the nonverbal communication of nurses and parturients. The analyzed variables were: distance; posture; axis; contact; emblematic gestures; illustrator gestures and regulatory gestures.
