Purpose: For the first time, three currently available 360° CZT-SPECT/CT cameras were compared under clinical conditions using phantom-based measurements.

Methods: A Tc- and a Lu-customized NEMA IEC body phantom were imaged with three different cameras, StarGuide (GE Healthcare), VERITON-CT versions 200 (V200) and 400 (V400) (Spectrum Dynamics Medical) under the same clinical conditions. Energy resolution and volumetric sensitivity were evaluated from energy spectra.

Dopamine transporter (DAT) imaging with [123I] FP-CIT (DaTSCAN) is an established diagnostic tool in parkinsonism and dementia. Using a low energy high resolution and sensitivity (LEHRS) collimator and step and shoot continuous scanning mode, Swiftscan single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) (GE Healthcare) enhances sensitivity and enables time or dose reduction. In this phantom and clinical study, we aim to validate a 25% reduction of the acquisition time using Swiftscan and its lack of effect on visual or quantitative analysis.

Tomographic radionuclide angiography (TRNA) can monitor cardiac function in patients receiving cardiotoxic chemotherapy. Gamma cameras using CZT detectors enable dose reduction and quicker acquisitions. We report 80 patients who underwent a 7-minute TRNA acquisition after injection of 550-MBq Tc-labeled human serum albumin.
