Article Synopsis
  • Adoption of topical negative pressure therapy (TNP) in home care faces challenges, including logistical issues and perceptions of higher costs compared to traditional wound management methods.
  • A study involving 20 subjects with various wounds demonstrated that the majority experienced reduced wound size and improved appearance using TNP, although one case highlighted the importance of accurate wound diagnosis before treatment.
  • The cost of TNP was notably lower for home care (average £45.9 per day) compared to hospital settings (average £259.1 per day), suggesting that home care might offer both qualitative and economic advantages.
