Gangrene of the auricle as the first sign of antiphospholipid antibody syndrome.

Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), more common in females, manifests clinically as thrombosis and/or recurrent fetal loss. Hemolytic autoimmune anemia and neurological, cardiac and cutaneous manifestations are common. This is the case report of a male patient whose first manifestation of the disease was gangrene of the auricle.

Correlation of fatigue with pain and disability in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, respectively.

Objective: To investigate the correlation of fatigue with pain in rheumatoid arthritis patients and with disability in osteoarthritis patients.

Methods: Twenty patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 20 patients with osteoarthritis were evaluated. The degree of fatigue was evaluated with a visual analogue scale and the Multidimensional Assessment of Fatigue.
