Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in women in Europe, and while all European countries have some form of screening for breast cancer, disparities in organization and implementation exist. Breast density is a well-established risk factor for breast cancer; however, most countries in Europe do not have recommendations in place for notification of breast density or additional supplementary imaging for women with dense breasts. Various supplemental screening modalities have been investigated in Europe, and when comparing modalities, MRI has been shown to be superior in cancer detection rate and in detecting small invasive disease that may impact long-term survival, as demonstrated in the Dense Tissue and Early Breast Neoplasm Screening (DENSE) trial in the Netherlands.

Tumour growth rate and invasive interval cancer characteristics in a UK breast cancer screening population.

Objectives: The aim was to develop a gender-specific European job exposure matrix (EuroJEM) for occupational physical workload and study its predictive validity for musculoskeletal pain in four European cohorts.

In situ oil contamination in young mangroves: Biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons and effects on the microbial and benthic communities, an experimental study in French Guiana.

An in-situ experiment was conducted in a young mangrove with no history of oil contamination (French Guiana). Control and oil-contaminated sediments were sampled one month after exposure and analyzed to a depth of 18 cm to assess natural oil depletion and changes in benthic communities. High biodegradation percentages (89-99 %) of n-alkanes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were measured.

Neoadjuvant Radiotherapy and Endocrine Therapy for Oestrogen Receptor Positive Breast Cancers: The Neo-RT Feasibility Study.

Aims: To establish the safety and feasibility of delivering neoadjuvant radiotherapy and endocrine therapy for oestrogen receptor-positive breast cancers with palpable size 20mm or greater, for which radiotherapy might facilitate more conservative surgery.

Materials And Methods: A single-arm feasibility study was conducted. Patients received whole breast radiotherapy with or without radiotherapy to nodal areas.

Materials and Methods Three commercial DL algorithms (DL-1, DL-2, and DL-3) were retrospectively investigated from January 2022 to June 2022 using consecutive full-field digital mammograms collected at two UK sites during 1 year (2017).

Importance: Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of negligence claims in radiology. The objective of this document is to describe the specific main causes of errors in breast imaging and provide European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) recommendations to try to minimize these.

Observations: Technical failures represent 17% of all mammographic diagnostic negligence claims.

Observations: Some of the potential implications of misdiagnosis in breast imaging include delayed diagnosis or false reassurance, which can result in a delay in treatment and potentially a worse prognosis. Misdiagnosis can also lead to unnecessary procedures, which can cause physical discomfort, anxiety, and emotional distress for patients, as well as increased healthcare costs.

Survival in dynamic environments requires that organisms learn to predict danger from situational cues. One key facet of threat prediction is generalization from a predictive cue to similar cues, ensuring that a cue-outcome contingency is applied beyond the original learning environment. Generalization has been observed in laboratory studies of aversive conditioning: Behavioral and physiological processes generalize responses from a stimulus paired with threat (the conditioned stimulus [CS+]) to unpaired stimuli, with response magnitudes varying with CS+ similarity.

Objectives: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a job-exposure matrix (JEM) specific to healthcare workers, JEM Soignances, based on self-reported data.

Methods: The JEM was constructed using data from healthcare workers within the CONSTANCES cohort (N=12 489). Job titles and sectors of activity (eg, hospital activities) defined occupational groups.

Strategies for integrating artificial intelligence into mammography screening programmes: a retrospective simulation analysis.

Background: Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into mammography screening can support radiologists and improve programme metrics, yet the potential of different strategies for integrating the technology remains understudied. We compared programme-level performance metrics of seven AI integration strategies.

Methods: We performed a retrospective comparative evaluation of seven strategies for integrating AI into mammography screening using datasets generated from screening programmes in Germany (n=1 657 068), the UK (n=223 603) and Sweden (n=22 779).

Risk stratification in breast screening workshop.

Population screening for breast cancer (BC) is currently offered in the UK for women aged 50 to 71 with the aim of reducing mortality. There is additional screening within the national programme for women identified as having a very high risk of BC. There is growing interest in further risk stratification in breast screening, which would require a whole population risk assessment and the subsequent offer of screening tailored to the individual's risk.

[Dorsal Screw Osteosynthesis of a Scaphoid Nonunion associated with Congenital Scaphotrapezial and Lunotriquetral Coalitions: A Case Report].

We present the case of a 24-year-old man who sustained a scaphoid fracture in the presence of congenital scaphotrapezial and lunotriquetral coalitions. As the fracture progressed to a nonunion, a screw osteosynthesis was performed. The altered biomechanics caused by the two coalitions necessitated a dorso-proximal surgical approach, and two screws were implanted to prevent rotational instability.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a platform for vaccination against bovine mastitis.

Mastitis is a major issue for the dairy industry. Despite multiple attempts, the efficacy of available mastitis vaccines is limited and this has been attributed to their incapacity to trigger robust cell-mediated immunity.
