Background: Looking for an adequate solution for those patients who desire abdominal definition, but are not candidates for liposuction alone, Danilla developed a technique, using selective fat grafting into the rectus abdominis (RAFT) to increase the muscle volume in addition to selective liposuction and abdominoplasty to provide an optimal body contouring.
Objective: To determine whether intramuscular fat grafting in the rectus abdominis muscles leads to an increase in muscle thickness after one year.
Methods: This is a prospective cohort study, from a single center, carried out over 24 months (October 2021-September 2023).
Context: Anaplastic thyroid carcinomas (ATCs) and poorly differentiated thyroid carcinomas (PDTCs) exhibit distinct immune-related gene expression profiles. Most ATCs are characterized by active immune interactions (hot or altered immunosuppressed immunophenotypes), while PDTCs are largely immunologically inert (cold immunophenotypes).
Objective: This study aimed to elucidate the mechanisms driving these divergent immunological fates, focusing on the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and TP53 mutations.
Purpose: The aim of this observational, retrospective, multicenter study (Epimetheo) was to analyze the activity and the safety of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) during poly(ADP-ribose)-polymerase inhibitor (PARPi) maintenance in a series of oligometastatic ovarian cancer (OC) patients.
Methods And Materials: Patients treated with PARPi in maintenance setting received SBRT if oligometastatic progression occurred. Maintenance treatment was continued until the extensive progression of the disease.

Background: The occurrence of surface irregularities in the abdomen after liposuction is frequent and can be due to the fact that more liposuctions are being done nowadays, and perhaps, the fact that more noncore surgeons are doing it could be an important factor. These superficial changes compromise the aesthetic results of surgery, and their correction is a major technical challenge.
Methods: The author presents a systematized approach for surgical treatment of fibrosis and post liposuction irregularities.
CDKL5 deficiency disorder (CDD) is an X-linked dominant epileptic encephalopathy, characterized by early-onset and drug-resistant seizures, psychomotor delay, and slight facial features. Genomic variants inactivating or impairing its protein product kinase activity have been reported, making next-generation sequencing (NGS) and chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) the standard diagnostic tests. We report a suspicious case of CDD in a female child who tested negative upon NGS and CMA and harbored an X chromosome de novo pericentric inversion.

The effectiveness of this modality is unclear in patients with a pre-dialysis stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD). This study aims to describe the clinical characteristics and management of CKD patients receiving telemedicine care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The technique focuses on revealing the patient's inherent muscular volume and form by creating thinner flaps compared to traditional liposuction methodologies.
Methods: Objective evaluations of the abdominal wall's configuration were systematically executed both pre- and post-intervention for each participant.

Background: The umbilicus detachment and reinsertion in umbilical float mini-abdominoplasty results in its lower position with or without shape distortion. This event creates a stigmatizing look, elongating the upper abdomen and creating variable grades of infra umbilical/pubis bulging. This lack of proportion causes an unpleasant, artificial look, and is very difficult to fix.

This article explores the impact of staffing shortages on patient safety sitters, discussing a review of 163 patient safety events. The findings underscore the need for adequate staffing levels and propose solutions, including alternative measures like tele-sitters and increased family involvement, to mitigate the challenges posed by these shortages and improve overall patient safety and care quality.

Herein, we describe the case of a 3-year-old boy with a rare metabolic disorder due to SLC30A10 bi-allelic mutations and characterized by hypermanganesemia, congenital erythrocytosis and neurodegeneration, also known as hypermanganesemia with dystonia 1 (HMNDYT1). The patient was treated with iron supplementation and chelation therapy with CaNa2EDTA, resulting in a significative reduction of blood manganese levels and erythrocytosis indexes.

Maintaining serum potassium levels within the physiologically normal range is critically important in these patients. Dietary potassium restriction has long been considered a core strategy for the management of chronic hyperkalemia in patients with CKD.

A deep understanding of adaptive immune response to SARS-CoV-2 is important for optimizing both vaccine development and pandemic control measures. Among cytokines secreted by lymphocytes in response to viral infection, IFN-γ plays a pivotal role both in innate and adaptive immunity.

However, the role of immune tumor microenvironment (TME) is poorly recognized in this setting. We aimed to study TME characteristics and dynamics during FLOT.

The most widely used methods to estimate creatine clearance such as Cockroft-Gault (CG), Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD), and Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) have not been validated in subjects with obesity.
Objective: The performance of prediction formulas was compared with measured creatinine clearance (mCrCl) in subjects with obesity.
Context: Prognosis is excellent for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), noninvasive follicular thyroid neoplasia with papillary-like nuclear features (NIFT-P), and follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) but is poor for poorly differentiated thyroid carcinoma (PDTC) and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC). Among PTCs, the prognosis is more favorable for follicular (FV-PTC) and classic (CV-PTC) than for tall cell (TCV-PTC), and solid (SV-PTC) variants.
Objective: To associate histotypes and variants of thyroid carcinoma with ultrasound and cytological features.
The tall-cell variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (TCPTC) is the most common aggressive variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and typically occurs in older patients. In this study, we analyzed retrospectively the largest mono-institutional series of PTCs with tall-cell features (989 patients) over a 17-year period, re-evaluating tumors based on age at presentation and outcomes in different age groups. We divided patients into three age groups following different criteria (the criterion from the American Joint Committee on Cancer Tumor Node Metastasis (AJCC TNM) guidelines, criterion for the statistical division into tertiles and adolescent/post-adolescent criterion) to analyze the clinicopathological characteristics in different age groups, especially in terms of recurrence-free survival (RFS) and distant recurrence-free survival (DRFS).

A better understanding of transcriptional changes in immune cell-related genes associated with cancer progression, and their significance in disease prognosis, is therefore needed. NanoString-based targeted gene expression profiling has advantages for deployment in a clinical setting over RNA-seq technologies.

Objective: Testicles of fatal COVID-19 cases were investigated to detect virus in tissue and to evaluate histopathological and transcriptomic changes.
Methods: Three groups were compared: (a) uninfected controls (subjects dying of trauma or sudden cardiac death; n = 10); (b) subjects dying of COVID-19 (virus-negative in testes; n = 15); (c) subjects dying of COVID-19 (virus-positive in testes; n = 9).
Interventions in work environments, processes, and situations encompass the prevention of diseases and accidents and workers' health promotion. Historically, these actions were originally the responsibility of the Ministry of Labor, being extended to the Ministry of Health, and later to the Ministry of Labor. The aim of this study was to understand and give visibility to the work of the actors working in the different sectors and institutions involved in health and safety at work in the municipality of São Paulo and gain an insight into the barriers to intersectorality and the consequences of the lack of intersectoral collaboration for this area.

Medium definition liposuction, together with the removal of abdominal skin, can recreate an adequate connection between the skin/subcutaneous components and the myo-aponeurotic layer, resulting in the perception of muscle definition.
Methods: Over a period of 36 months, 351 patients underwent medium definition liposuction associated with abdominoplasty performed by a single surgeon (G.
