Introduction And Importance: Growing skull fracture is one the rarest complication of skull fracture. They are identified mostly in infancy and children's, secondary to head trauma but there exist possibility of missed diagnosis in childhood and patient presenting in adulthood with delayed complications. Hence timely diagnosis and prompt management is mandatory.

Background: Life satisfaction, one promising health asset, is associated with reduced risk of several chronic diseases and mortality. Mental health conditions and quality of life (QoL) are important aspects of well-being in late life and are significantly associated with life satisfaction. Despite the complex interrelationships between mental health, QoL and life satisfaction, the current literature has evaluated the simple association between them and failed to consider the complex pathways among these variables, especially among the older population.

Abscisic acid (ABA) and ethylene are two essential hormones that play crucial roles throughout the entire plant life cycle and in their tolerance to abiotic or biotic stress. In recent decades, increasing research has revealed that, in addition to their individual roles, these two hormones are more likely to function through their interactions, forming a complex regulatory network. More importantly, their functions change and their interactions vary from synergistic to antagonistic depending on the specific plant organ and development stage, which is less focused, compared and systematically summarized.

The ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) is a key protein degradation pathway in eukaryotes, in which E3 ubiquitin ligases mediate protein ubiquitination, directly or indirectly targeting substrate proteins to regulate various biological processes, including plant growth, hormone signaling, immune responses, and adaptation to abiotic stress. In this study, we identified plant U-box protein 51 in () as an E3 ubiquitin ligase through transcriptomic analysis, and used it as a candidate gene for gene-function analysis. Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to examine expression across different tissues, and its expression patterns under simulated drought stress induced by polyethylene glycol (PEG 6000) were assessed.

Introduction And Importance: Penile myiasis is the infestation of the penile area with larvae of certain fly species, especially diptera. It is rare but can be a serious parasitic infestation that typically occurs in individuals with poor hygiene or those living in unsanitary conditions. Due to the non-specific and vague clinical presentation, it holds diagnostic difficulty.

Background: Inspite of high prevalence of mental illness in developing countries, access to health care for addressing mental health issues has several existing barriers at different levels leading to disproportionate adverse health outcomes, summarised as the three Ds of death, disability, and health-economic deficit. This study aims at examining the perspectives of patients with mental illness on barriers to access mental care.

Methods: In this study, we searched EMBASE, PubMed, Scopus and PsycNet databases.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examined how different ratios of whole and dehulled oats, ground to different sizes, affect gizzard function and the passage of large oat hull particles in broilers.* -
  • Results showed that gizzard contents had significantly higher neutral detergent fiber, indicating that it selectively retains larger oat hull particles until a certain limit, after which larger particles pass through unground.* -
  • An experiment revealed that larger oat hull particles were less broken down and passed more readily into excreta over time, challenging the assumption that all particles are ground to a critical size before moving through the digestive system.*

Background: The global aging population is growing rapidly, and Nepal is no exception. This increase is driven by changes in socioeconomic conditions, health behaviours, and advancements in the health system. In Nepal, almost a quarter of the national population are older adults (≥45 years), whose health status is rarely elaborated.

In multiple sclerosis (MS) the circulating metabolome is dysregulated, with indole lactate (ILA) being one of the most significantly reduced metabolites. We demonstrate that oral supplementation of ILA impacts key MS disease processes in two preclinical models. ILA reduces neuroinflammation by dampening immune cell activation/ infiltration; and promotes remyelination and oligodendrocyte differentiation through the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR).

Background: Surgical or medical treatment for type B or descending aortic dissections with difficult presentation or stable hemodynamics is debatable. This study aimed to review the type B aortic dissection therapy to assess safety and effectiveness.

Materials And Methods: Online databases of PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science, Cochrane, and Scopus were searched for relevant systematic reviews, guidelines, and meta-analysis studies on the management of type B aortic dissection, up to July 2023.

Despite the ever-expanding scope of telemedicine, studies regarding its application in the field of otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery (ORL-HNS) in remote parts of the world are lacking. This pilot study aims to bridge the research gap and to assess the efficacy of our tailored telemedicine clinic model, operating in an "asynchronous" mode, in diagnosing various ORL-HNS diseases. This is a cross-sectional study conducted at a tertiary care center of Nepal.

Introduction And Importance: Although pulmonary artery involvement is well recognized, the incidence of interstitial lung disease (ILD) with Takayasu arteritis is very rare. The pathophysiology of ILD in Takayasu is still incompletely understood, in contrast to several studies establishing the relationship between ANCA-associated vasculitis and ILD. The management of this patient involved a multidisciplinary approach with long-term follow-up.

Deep learning-based models for predicting blood glucose levels in diabetic patients can facilitate proactive measures to prevent critical events and are essential for closed-loop control therapy systems. However, selecting appropriate models from the literature may not always yield conclusive results, as the choice could be influenced by biases or misleading evaluations stemming from different methodologies, datasets, and preprocessing techniques. This study aims to compare and comprehensively analyze the performance of various deep learning models across diverse datasets to assess their applicability and generalizability across a broader spectrum of scenarios.

Introduction And Importance: Owing to the high number of envenomation and fatalities, the Russell's viper holds greater medicinal significance than any other Asian serpent. South East Asia is one of the most snakebite-prone regions in the world. Dense population, extensive agricultural practices, the abundance of venomous snake species, and an overall lack of knowledge about primary treatment (first aid) are the major culprits associated with snake bite-related morbidity and mortality.

Metal particles incorporated into polymer matrices in various forms and geometries are attractive material platforms for promoting wound healing and preventing infections. However, the fate of these metal particles and their degraded products in the tissue environment are still unknown, as both can produce cytotoxic effects and promote unwanted wound reactions. In this study, we develop biodegradable fibrous biomaterials embedded with metal particles that have an immune activation functions.
