Introduction: Tracheostomy is a commonly performed procedure in Otolaryngology and can be performed in different settings. We evaluate patient characteristics and cost efficacy of tracheostomy at the bedside versus operating room (OR).
Materials And Methods: Retrospective chart review was performed for adult intensive care unit (ICU) patients who underwent tracheostomy from 2020 to 2023.
Objectives: Sinonasal mucosal melanoma (SNMM) is an aggressive cancer usually managed with surgical resection. This study evaluates the impact of treatment modality and positive surgical margin (PSM) on survival following resection of SNMM.

Because MetS is a consequence of endocrine dysfunction, and given the thyroid's crucial role in endocrine homeostasis, we sought to evaluate the association between MetS and postoperative outcomes of thyroidectomy.
Methods: Data were acquired from the ACS-NSQIP database from years 2005 to 2017.
Objectives/hypothesis: Thyroid cancer with distant metastasis (TCDM) at diagnosis has significantly worse survival rates when compared to localized/regional thyroid cancer. This study sought to report on the characteristics of patients presenting with TCDM and the potential survival advantage of surgical resection.
Study Design: Data were acquired from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database with cases from 2004 to 2015.
Objective: To identify risk factors and interventions affecting length of hospitalization (LOH) and clinical outcome in children with intracranial complications of rhinosinusitis.
Methods: Retrospective chart review of 12 children hospitalized at 2 academic medical centers for intracranial complications of rhinosinusitis over the past 5 years.
Results: 12 patients were identified with an average age at presentation of 13 years old.
Background: The anterior skull base (ASB) remains one of the greatest challenges for reconstructive surgeons. The current armamentarium includes endoscopic placement of free grafts, endonasal vascularized pedicled flaps, regional flaps, and microvascular free flaps. As the defect size increases, reconstruction complexity increases along with potential complications.
