Article Synopsis
  • - This research explores the use of acacia raddiana leaves in creating silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) through an eco-friendly process, examining how factors like pH, temperature, and extract volume affect the synthesis efficiency and characteristics of the nanoparticles.
  • - Characterization methods confirmed the successful creation of AgNPs with sizes ranging from 8 to 41 nm and indicated that the synthesis worked best in basic conditions (pH 10) at 70 °C.
  • - The synthesized AgNPs demonstrate promising capabilities for detecting heavy metal ions, showing distinct color changes and absorbance shifts with sensitivity for metals like Hg, Cu, Pb, and Co, indicating their potential use in environmental monitoring.

The adsorption potential of the blast furnace slag of a ferrosilicon firm in Aswan Governorate, Egypt, to decolorize aqueous solutions of 3-methyl-1-phenylpyrazol-5-one 4[2] merocyanine dye (1) was investigated at room temperature. The influence of the solution pH, the quantity of adsorbent, the initial concentration of 1, and the applied contact time were studied with the batch technique. The maximum percentage of removal of 1 was observed at pH 4.
