High prevalence during early childhood has been associated with stunting and environmental enteric dysfunction (EED), especially in low resource settings. This study assessed the prevalence, diversity, abundance, and co-occurrence of spp. in stools from children in a rural area of eastern Ethiopia and their association with microbiome, diarrhea, and EED in children.

Methods: We conducted a national survey using a specific questionnaire distributed by the professional pathology services.
Background: Traditionally, patients undergoing acute ischemic strokes were candidates for mechanical thrombectomy if they were within the 6-h window from onset of symptoms. This timeframe would exclude many patient populations, such as wake-up strokes. However, the most recent clinical trials, DAWN and DEFUSE3, have expanded the window of endovascular treatment for acute ischemic stroke patients to within 24 h from symptom onset.

There is no consensus on management of complications associated with the placement of these devices. This review focuses on the management of complications of FDS for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms.

Because the precursors are coordination compounds possessing specific geometry in the crystal lattice, uniform and appropriately sized homo- and heterometallic nanocrystals of CoO and ZnO·CoO were obtained after a thermal process. The homo and hetero composite particles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT IR spectroscopy and electrochemistry.

In addition, semen parameters, serum total testosterone, FSH and testicular volume were measured before and at 6 months after varicocelectomy. The mean PLT, MPV, PDW and PCT were 231 ± 42 × 103/µl, 9.

Here, a model of the acoustic radiation force by an arbitrary beam on a solid object was validated against measurement. The lateral force in water of different acoustic beams was measured and calculated for spheres of different diameter (2-6 wavelengths in water) and composition.

Material And Methods: This was a retrospective study of 160 patients who underwent acetabular revision surgery after THR due to loosening of the acetabular cup. The assessment of the acetabular defect was based on intraoperative description of the bony configuration of the acetabulum as well as on standardized preoperative planning images (pelvic overview and axial view of the hip joint).
Objectives: The present study aims to evaluate the role of Positron emission tomography (PET) -computed tomography (CT) with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) in the restaging of high-risk testicular cancer.
Methods: Forty-five patients (mean age of 38.1±11.
Pulses, defined as legumes which produce dry seed used for human consumption, are plants of great agronomic value, at the food system level as much as the field level but their diversity has been largely underused. This study aimed at analyzing existing data on cultivated pulse species in the literature to provide a broad and structured description of pulses' interspecific functional diversity. We used a functional trait-based approach to evaluate how pulse diversity could support food production in agroecosystems constrained by low water and nutrient availability and exposed to high weed pressure.

Type IV allergies to nickel sulfate, potassium dichromate and/or cobalt chloride are supposed to be associated with aseptic loosening, pain or infections in patients with hip arthroplasty. However, there is debate on any causal relation between type IV sensitization to metals and any of these complications. We report on a patient with suspicion of pre-existing type IV sensitization to nickel sulfate and potassium dichromate who did not show any complications after hip arthroplasty.

The most active isolate was identified by the molecular 16SrRNA sequence technique as Bacillus atrophaeus NRC1. The bacterium showed maximum amylase production under optimum culture conditions at pH 6.

Accordingly, the aim of this study was to ascertain and assess differences in terms of the acceptance of alternative types of prosthesis instrument configurations, oriented around the research question: "Which product features and process effects determine a high level of employee acceptance of use?" This study is designed as a before-and-after comparison, based on the usability engineering approach. In the first study phase, 46 employees participating in the process of providing instruments for a total knee arthroplasty (TKA) procedure were asked to examine the current working situation, using a standard instrumentation set, in terms of instrument handling, work burden, proneness to errors, patient risks, process efficiency, and effectiveness.

This paper describes a multicomponent intervention for management of hypertension and diabetes among older adult Syrian refugees and the Lebanese host community and reflects on challenges for scaling up NCD integration into primary care in humanitarian situations.
Methods: Using a mixed method approach, the study focused on monitoring and evaluation of the three components of the intervention: healthcare physical facilities and documentation processes, provider knowledge and guideline-concordant performance, and refugee and host community awareness.
Red palm weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus, is one of the most destructive pests of cultivated palm trees. The application of synthetic insecticides is currently a main strategy for RPW control. In this study we estimated the distribution of acetylcholinesterase (AChE), as a detoxifying enzyme and the target site of inhibition by insecticides, using ASChI as substrate in different organs of the pest including whole gut, cuticle, fat body, head and haemolymph.

This study focused on the incorporation of carbon quantum dots doped with nitrogen as a photosensitizer into porous tungsten trioxide photoanodes (N-CQD/-WO) using a surfactant self-assembly template approach. The crystal structure, composition, and morphology of pure and N-CQD- modified porous WO photoanodes were investigated using scanning electron and transmission microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

These lung conditions lead to dyspnoea, cough, abnormalities in gas exchange, restrictive physiology (characterised by decreased lung volumes), hypoxaemia and, if progressive, respiratory failure. In some cases, ILDs can be caused by systemic diseases or environmental exposures.
