Blood carries some of the most valuable biomarkers for disease screening as it interacts with various tissues and organs in the body. Human blood serum is a reservoir of high molecular weight fraction (HMWF) and low molecular weight fraction (LMWF) proteins. The LMWF proteins are considered disease marker proteins and are often suppressed by HMWF proteins during analysis.

In addition to the well-known features, tumor budding (TB), poorly differentiated clusters (PDCs), and amount of stroma within the invasive front are associated with a poor prognostic outcome in many carcinomas. Here, we evaluate TB, PDCs, and the stroma percentage in UEC and correlate these findings with morphologic features known to be associated with a poor clinical outcome and with recurrence-free survival (RFS).

This addresses the variability and potential inaccuracies associated with manual quantification, aiming to improve the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular conditions.
Methods: A single, fully automated multitask network, the EchoFused Network (EFNet) is introduced that simultaneously addresses both left ventricle segmentation and ejection fraction estimation tasks through cross-module fusion.
This study introduces a fractional order model to investigate the dynamics of polio disease spread, focusing on its significance, unique results, and conclusions. We emphasize the importance of understanding polio transmission dynamics and propose a novel approach using a fractional order model with an exponential decay kernel. Through rigorous analysis, including existence and stability assessment applying the Caputo Fabrizio fractional operator, we derive key insights into the disease dynamics.

Despite the high number of possible drug combinations, only a limited number of clinical DDI studies are conducted. Computational prediction of DDIs could provide key evidence for the rational management of complex therapies.

This research specifically addresses lung cancer, the world's deadliest disease with the highest mortality rate. Two primary factors contribute to its onset: genetic predisposition and environmental factors, such as smoking and exposure to pollutants.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFCancer is a severe threat to humans, as it is the second leading cause of death after cardiovascular diseases and still poses the biggest challenge in the world of medicine. Due to its higher mortality rates and resistance, it requires a more focused and productive approach to provide the solution for it. Many therapies promising to deliver favorable results, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, have come up with more negatives than positives.

Cancer is one of the most demanding domains for innovative, effective, safe, and affordable therapeutically active chemicals. The main aim of this study is to research new phytochemicals with anticancer activity. The current experiment identified and analyzed six compounds for anti-cancer potential supported by molecular simulation studies.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFaster growth of infrastructure emphasizes the utilization of eco-friendly construction materials with a low carbon footprint. The objective of this experimental study is to propose a mix design methodology for self-compacting geopolymer concrete (SCGC) considering various influencing parameters recommended for self-compacting concrete (SCC) and geopolymer concrete (GPC). The experimental test results depict that SCGC had similar flow deformability with comparatively lesser flow speed compared to SCC.

Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted from November 2021 to November 2022 after approval from the ethics review committee of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, Pakistan, and comprised of 88 patients with beta thalassemia major aged >8 years and having serum ferritin level >1000 μg/L. The subjects were analysed for haemoglobin subunit beta gene variants and major endocrine complications, like growth retardation, hypogonadism, hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism and diabetic abnormalities using an automatic chemistry analyser, fully automatic chemiluminescence immunoassay analyser, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and real-time polymerase chain reaction.
Echocardiography is one of the imaging systems most often utilized for assessing heart anatomy and function. Left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) is an important clinical variable assessed from echocardiography via the measurement of left ventricle (LV) parameters. Significant inter-observer and intra-observer variability is seen when LVEF is quantified by cardiologists using huge echocardiography data.

Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted on a sample of 527 children from four schools located in Lahore, Pakistan. A 14-point questionnaire was developed, using existing measures of peer pressure, and popularity.
Heavy metals are ubiquitous in water bodies as a result of anthropogenic activities and over time they accumulate in body thus posing serious health problems. Therefore, it is essential to improve sensing performance, for determination of heavy metal ions (HMIs), of electrochemical sensors. In this work, cobalt-derived MOF (ZIF-67) was in-situ synthesized and incorporated onto the surface of graphene oxide (GO) by simple sonication method.
