Histopathological profile of women who had previously failed in-vitro fertilization and the association to the outcome in the subsequent in-vitro fertilization cycle.

Objective: To evaluate the endometrial histopathological profile of patients undergoing curettage and the association of the histopathological profile with the pregnancy outcome during the subsequent in-vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle.

Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, a total of 248 women with at least one failed attempt of IVF and who underwent curettage and a subsequent IVF were included. Demographic data, endometrial histopathological records, stimulation information, and pregnancy outcomes were collected and analyzed.

A Triple-Blind Randomized Trial of Preemptive Use of Gabapentin Before Laparoscopic Hysterectomy for Benign Gynaecologic Conditions.

Objective: This study sought to examine the efficacy of preemptive use of gabapentin in laparoscopic hysterectomy for benign gynaecologic conditions.

Methods: In a triple-blind trial, the study investigators randomly assigned women undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy to receive 600 mg gabapentin (n = 43) or placebo (n = 45) orally 1 hour before the procedure. Patient-controlled opioid analgesia was provided postoperatively.

Factors associated with successful induction of labor.

Objective: To evaluate the prevalence, indications, and factors associated with successful induction of labor (IOL), and maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Methods: All women booked for IOL at King Khalid University Hospital, King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from April 2010 to March 2011 were included. The characteristics of women who had successful IOL were compared to those who delivered by cesarean section (CS).
