Introduction: Giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) is a very rare tumor encountered in the jaws and its histology is quite similar to the more common giant cell granuloma of the jaws (GCGJ). These two entities can be easily confused in maxillofacial region. They are classically managed surgically, but in some localizations and in specific medical-surgical contexts, neoadjuvant therapy with denosumab may be indicated.

An isoelectronic and isostructural series of cyclometalated azido complexes [M(N)(dpb)] with M = Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(II), and Au(III) based on the N^C^N pincer ligand 1,3-di(2-pyridyl)phenide (dpb) was characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis and investigated for reactivity in the iClick reaction with a wide range of internal and terminal alkynes by using H and F NMR spectroscopy. Reaction rate constants were found to increase with greater charge density in the order Ni(II) > Pd(II) > Pt(II) > Au(III). Terminal alkynes R-C≡C-R' with strongly electron-withdrawing groups R and R' exhibited faster kinetics than those with electron-donating substituents in the order CF > ketone > ester > H > phenyl ≫ amide, while R = CH resulted in complete loss of reactivity.

Introduction: A high proportion of Canadian patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) do not achieve the threshold low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels recommended by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society in 2021. This increases the risk of subsequent atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) events. Here, we assess LDL-C levels and threshold achievement among patients by lipid-lowering therapies (LLT) received post-AMI.

Unlabelled: The purpose of this experimental study on recently deceased human cadavers was to investigate whether (I) the radiation exposure of the cervical spine CT can be reduced comparable to a dose level of conventional radiography (CR); and (II) whether and which human body parameters can be predictive for higher dose reduction potential (in this context).

Materials And Methods: Seventy serial CT scans of the cervical spine of 10 human cadavers undergoing postmortem virtual autopsy were taken using stepwise decreasing upper limits of the tube current (300 mAs, 150 mAs, 110 mAs, 80 mAs, 60 mAs, 40 mAs, and 20 mAs) at 120 kVp. An additional scan acquired at a fixed tube current of 300 mAs served as a reference.

The B subunit of bacterial Shiga toxin (STxB) is nontoxic and has low immunogenicity. Its receptor, the glycosphingolipid Gb3/CD77, is overexpressed on the cell surface of human colorectal cancer. We tested whether genetic porcine models, closely resembling human anatomy and pathophysiology, can be used to exploit the tumor-targeting potential of STxB.

Facial muscle corticobulbar motor evoked potentials (FMcoMEPs) are used to monitor facial nerve integrity during vestibular schwannoma resections to increase maximal safe tumor resection. Established warning criteria, based on ipsilateral amplitude reduction, have the limitation that the rate of false positive alarms is high, in part because FMcoMEP changes occur on both sides, e.g.
