Recent accelerations in multi-modal applications have been made possible with the plethora of image and text data available online. However, the scarcity of analogous data in the medical field, specifically in histopathology, has halted comparable progress. To enable similar representation learning for histopathology, we turn to YouTube, an untapped resource of videos, offering 1,087 hours of valuable educational histopathology videos from expert clinicians.

Establishing a practical tool that can measure and score sustainable and healthy eating is highly important.
Methods: We established a 30-item questionnaire to evaluate sustainable-dietary consumption.
Additive manufacturing attracts much interest for manufacturing and repair of structural parts for the aerospace industry. This paper presents comparative characterization of aircraft items made of Al 4047 alloy, Ti-6Al-4V alloy, and 17-4 precipitation hardened (PH) (AISI 630) stainless steel, either manufactured or repaired by laser engineered net shaping (LENS). Chemical analysis, density, and surface roughness measurements, X-ray micro-computed tomography (μ-CT) analysis, metallography, and micro-hardness testing were conducted.

Methods: We conducted a longitudinal follow-up among 27,724 patients, newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, in a large healthcare organization. We identified trajectories of long-term HbA1c levels during the first 5 years post diabetes onset to examine associations with subsequent risk for morbidity and all-cause mortality.
Mental rotation and visual-spatial perspective taking (VSPT) are two visual-spatial abilities that are highly correlated. Judgment of relative direction (JRD) tasks are commonly used to examine VSPT in conjunction with mental rotation. Moreover, in many studies the task involves switching from an imagined perspective to a sensorimotor perspective at the response phase.

Objectives: To assess whether a structured communication tool improves satisfaction with care and engenders realistic expectations among relatives of critically ill patients.
Study Design: A controlled, pre-post intervention design was implemented in the General and Medical ICUs in the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel.
Objectives: Disease registry for diabetes care encourages transparency and benchmarking of quality of care (QoC) measurements for all service providers and seems to improve diabetes care. This study evaluate changes over time in QoC measurement performance in a large diabetes registry among newly diagnosed diabetics and it association with mortality.
Methods: Retrospective cohort study of patients in a large health maintenance organization diabetes registry from years 2000 to 2013.
Background And Purpose: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most disastrous stroke subtype. Prognosis is considered worse with prior antithrombotic treatment. Our aim was to evaluate the association of prior antithrombotic treatment on the radiological and clinical outcome after ICH in a subgroup of patients included in a national registry.

Methods And Results: Data were derived from a prospective Israeli ICD Registry.
Background: A patient`s individual chance of being diagnosed with cardiovascular disease can be determined by risk scores.
Objectives: To determine the risk score profiles of patients presenting with a first acute coronary event according to pre-admission risk factors and to evaluate its association with long-term mortality.
Methods: The research was based on a retrospective study of a cohort from the 2010 and 2013 Acute Coronary Syndrome Israeli Surveys (ACSIS).
Background And Aims: Diabetes and dysglycemia increase the risk of frailty and decreased physical abilities. Adherence to the Mediterranean Diet (MD) may reduce this risk. We hypothesized that adherence to the MD is associated with physical function in older type-2 diabetic patients and that the association is stratified by age.

Methods: All 6693 acute ischemic strokes and intracerebral hemorrhage in the National Acute Stroke Israeli participants ≥20 years old were included.
Background & Aims: Despite the thorough mapping of brain pathways involved in eating behavior, no treatment aimed at modulating eating dysregulation from its neurocognitive root has been established yet. We aimed to evaluate the effect of N.I.

Methods And Results: The cohort comprised 12 403 nondiabetic patients with stable coronary artery disease who were enrolled in the Bezafibrate Infarction Prevention Registry between February 1990 and October 1992 and followed up through December 2014. The study cohort was divided into 4 groups: patients without MetS or impaired fasting glucose (IFG), patients with IFG but without MetS, patients with MetS but without IFG, and patients with both MetS and IFG.
Treatment delays in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) are related to increased morbidity and mortality. Hence, identifying determinants of delay may help reduce time to treatment. Importantly, limited data suggest that there may be sex-related disparities in benchmark timelines.

Methods: Use of anticoagulation for secondary stroke prevention was assessed in the National Acute Stroke Israeli Survey registry (NASIS) of hospitalized patients with atrial fibrillation and acute brain ischemia. Logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the effects of clinical covariates on anticoagulation therapy at discharge, and anticoagulation use over time was assessed in subgroups of patients with identified barriers to anticoagulation utilization.
While low vitamin D status has been shown to be associated with decreased quality of life in unhealthy populations and women, only limited data are available regarding healthy adult men. Our aim was to evaluate the associations between health-related quality of life (QoL) and vitamin D status in adult men. High-tech employees aged 25-65 year were recruited from an occupational periodic examination clinic at Rambam Health Campus.

A cluster-randomized controlled-trial examining the effect of a school-based comprehensive intervention on nutrition knowledge, eating habits, and behaviors among low socioeconomic status (LSES) school-aged children was performed. LSES school-aged children (4-7 years) and their mothers were recruited from 11 schools, located in one town.

The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of vitamin D supplementation on markers of insulin sensitivity and inflammation in men without diabetes with vitamin D deficiency/insufficiency. In this 1-year double-blind randomized controlled trial, 130 men aged 20-65 years (mean age 47.

In major disasters, as demonstrated recently in Nepal (2015) and previously in Haiti (2010), external aid is vital, yet in the first hours after a disaster, communities must usually cope alone with the challenge of providing emergent lifesaving care. Communities therefore need to be prepared to handle emergency situations.

Background And Aims: To determine the association between vitamin D status and cardiometabolic indicators, and to determine the vitamin threshold that affects these parameters.
Methods And Results: High-tech employees were recruited from a periodic occupational health examination clinic and via the study's website. Diastolic and systolic blood pressure (DBP, SBP), body mass index (BMI), and waist circumference were measured.
Unlabelled: Vitamin D replenishment therapy typically entails standard dosages, but related increases in serum 25(OH)D levels vary between individuals. This study was aimed to identify factors that affect the efficacy of vitamin D supplementation.
Subjects And Methods: 79 healthy men aged 25-65 with 25(OH)D<20ng/ml participated in a vitamin D supplementation study.
Background: Obesity is the most common chronic pediatric disease in westernized, especially low socioeconomic societies. We previously demonstrated the beneficial effects of a randomized prospective school-based health education program for low socioeconomic status Arab-Israeli kindergarten children.
Methods: To examine whether the effects of our program on nutrition and physical activity knowledge and preferences, anthropometric measures, and fitness persisted one year after the end of intervention.
