Here we report that SEL1L-HRD1 protein complex of the highly conserved ER-associated protein degradation (ERAD) machinery in POMC-expressing neurons ameliorates diet-induced obesity and its associated complications, partly by regulating the turnover of the long isoform of Leptin receptors (LepRb). Loss of SEL1L in POMC-expressing neurons attenuates leptin signaling and predisposes mice to HFD-associated pathologies including fatty liver, glucose intolerance, insulin and leptin resistance.

Study Design: One hundred and sixty-one voice samples for dysphonia patients were used. In this study, we combined sustained vowel samples and connected speech samples using the Praat software to make the concatenated samples for implementing acoustic analysis and auditory perceptual assessments.

Purpose: This study identifies the unique phenomena and subjectivity of empathy as exhibited by certified caregivers.
Methods: Q-methodology was used to define types and describe the characteristics of empathy in certified caregivers. After in-depth interviews with 10 certified caregivers and a review of the related literature, the final 38 Q-samples were selected by collecting experts' opinions.
Background: Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is characterized by transient constriction of cerebral arteries, leading to severe headache and potential complications. The association between RCVS and Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) is rare and poorly understood and warrants further investigation.
Methods: A detailed case of RCVS in a patient with GBS was presented, followed by a comprehensive literature review.
