Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is a rare, autosomal dominant disease characterized by non-ketogenic diabetes mellitus (DM). MODY type 4, caused by PDX1 mutation, is a very rare subtype of MODY, especially in Korea. We report a case of a 10-year-old, nonobese girl with a family history of type 2 DM.

Fluoxetine, one of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), has been reported to induce the expression of tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH), the rate-limiting enzyme in the biosynthesis of serotonin. The 14-3-3 protein family not only activates neuronal enzymes, including TPH, but also plays a role in a wide variety of cell signaling.
