Purpose: To evaluate and compare crestal bone level changes and peri-implant status of implant-supported reconstructions in edentulous and partially dentate patients after a minimum of 5 years of loading.
Materials And Methods: All patients who received a self-tapping implant with a microstructured surface during the years 2003 and 2004 at the Department of Prosthodontics, University of Bern, were included in this study. The implant restorations comprised fixed and removable prostheses for partially and completely edentulous patients.
Purpose: Two noninvasive methods to measure dental implant stability are damping capacity assessment (Periotest) and resonance frequency analysis (Osstell). The objective of the present study was to assess the correlation of these 2 techniques in clinical use.
Materials And Methods: Implant stability of 213 clinically stable loaded and unloaded 1-stage implants in 65 patients was measured in triplicate by means of resonance frequency analysis and Periotest.

The new Swiss implant system SPI became available three years ago and is used in combination with fixed and removable prosthetic reconstructions. In a pilot study the clinical procedures were evaluated and data of prosthetic complications of maintenance service were collected. 25 patients participated in the study with a total of 79 SPI implants during the time period from 2003-2004.

Purpose: The objective of the present study was to determine standard Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ) values for apparently successfully osseointegrated 1-stage implants in the maxilla.
Materials And Methods: To measure implant stability, resonance frequency analysis (RFA) was performed in 35 patients (18 women, 17 men) with a total of 120 maxillary ITI implants. Based on the time interval between implant placement and measurements, the ISQ values of anterior and posterior implants were divided into subgroups: unloaded (n = 41), loaded < or = 12 months (n = 31), and loaded > 1 year (n = 48).
