Electrostimulation: Current Status, Strength of Evidence Guidelines, and Meta-Analysis.

Delayed healing of skin wounds is a serious problem for the patients, clinicians, and society. The application of interventions with proven effectiveness to increase wound healing is relevant. This article summarizes the results of effect studies with the application of electrostimulation (ES) as additional treatment to standard wound care (SWC).

Manual mobilization of the wrist: a pilot study in rehabilitation of patients with a chronic hemiplegic hand post-stroke.

Study Design: Prospective pilot cohort study, quasi-experimental design.

Introduction: Restricted hand mobility, limitation in activities and participation, due to relative immobilization of the hemiplegic hand are frequently reported after stroke.

Purpose Of The Study: To establish whether manual mobilization of the wrist has an additional value in the treatment of the hemiplegic hand.

Infrared sauna in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. A pilot study showing good tolerance, short-term improvement of pain and stiffness, and a trend towards long-term beneficial effects.

To study the effects of infrared (IR) Sauna, a form of total-body hyperthermia in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients were treated for a 4-week period with a series of eight IR treatments. Seventeen RA patients and 17 AS patients were studied. IR was well tolerated, and no adverse effects were reported, no exacerbation of disease.
