Methods: Utilizing PubMed/MedLine and Scopus, 25 pertinent studies were meticulously selected for this review.
Results: A key theme identified is the potential of microbiomes as diagnostic tools.
We have been experiencing a global pandemic with baleful consequences for mankind, since the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was first identified in Wuhan of China, in December 2019. So far, several potential risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 infection have been identified. Among them, the role of ABO blood group polymorphisms has been studied with results that are still unclear.
