Awareness of disaster preparedness between administrative staff and residents in the vicinity of the Genkai and Ikata nuclear power plants following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster.

When considering disaster preparedness, one challenge is mitigating the health impacts of evacuations. Nuclear disaster preparedness has evolved based on past experiences from numerous disasters, including the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident. However, there is a lack of comprehensive reporting on the awareness of administrative staff, medical personnel, and residents in the areas surrounding nuclear power plants (NPPs).

[A case of fluvoxamine overdose].

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) are newly developed-antidepressants authorized in 1999 in Japan. We experienced a case of drug poisoning including fluvoxamine, one of SSRI. A comatose nineteen-year-old girl was transported to our ER in the morning on July 25, 2000.

An analysis of CO elimination curves during artificial ventilation.

We have developed some indices to evaluate the phase III slope in CO elimination curves. The indices were applied to 12 mechanically ventilated patients in ICU to determine their stability under various ventilator settings. F-sl[30-90] and[Formula: see text] expressed the mean incline of phase III slope in F-volume curves and[Formula: see text]-volume curves, respectively.

Ipsilateral referral of pain following cordotomy.

We report a patient who developed ipsilateral referred pain following unilateral percutaneous cervical cordotomy (PCC). A right-sided PCC was performed on a 44-year-old woman who had been suffering from left groin and thigh pain caused by a fibrosarcoma. PCC produced analgesia below T7 on the left side, and the pain disappeared.
