An elderly patient with head injury was registered to the emergency room. Because the patient arrived to the hospital unconscious, her cranial, cerebrovascular, and cardiac function was studied. The cardiac function measurements were (i) heart rate, (ii) blood pressure, (iii) oxygen saturation level, (iv) electrocardiogram (ECG), (v) coronary angiogram, (vi) chest computerized tomography (CT), and (vii) echocardiogram.

Objectives: In patients with stable angina receiving percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) prevention of periprocedural myocardial infarction by atorvastatin pretreatment was associated with reduction of endothelial activation. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) are a subtype of hematopoietic stem cells, which contribute to the repair of injured endothelium. Treatment with atorvastatin has been shown to increase EPC count in patients with coronary artery disease.
