The review presents analysis of scientific publications considering medical errors in intravital pathologicoanatomic diagnostic. The examples of classification, rate of diagnostic errors and possible ways of decreasing the number of diagnostic errors in pathological anatomy are considered.

Testing of Actual Scanner Performance in a High-loaded UNIM Laboratory Environment.

Background: Scanners are the main tool in digital pathology. The technical abilities of scanners determine the workflow logic in the pathology laboratory. Its performance can be restricted by the divergence between the scanning time presented by the manufacturer and the actual scanning time.

Therapeutic approach for patients with venous thromboembolism attended in emergency departments during routine clinical practice: the EDITH study.

Anxiety related to discharge from inpatient neurorehabilitation: Exploring the role of self-efficacy and internal health control beliefs.

The study aimed to determine the prevalence of anxiety related to discharge, among a group of 42 participants who were likely to have sustained an at least moderate to severe ABI and who were due to be discharged home following a period of inpatient neurorehabilitation. Differential relationships between psychological factors (self-efficacy and internal health control beliefs) were examined, alongside the relative influence of demographic and clinical characteristics on discharge anxiety. Data were obtained via self-report measures and retrospective reviews of participant's inpatient medical records.

Guidelines for the diagnosis and management of neuropathic pain: consensus of a group of Latin American experts.

These consensus guidelines have been developed by a group of Latin American experts in pain management, to point out patterns and make practical recommendations to guide the diagnosis, identify warning signs (yellow and red flags), and establish comprehensive medical management (pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment) and monitoring plans for patients enduring neuropathic pain. From the viewpoint of pharmacologic management, drugs are classified into groups according to efficacy, availability/accessibility, and safety criteria. Drugs are recommended for use depending on the disease and particular circumstances of each patient, with an approach that favors multimodal treatment while taking into consideration the idiosyncrasies of medical practice in Latin America.

The relationship between asthma and obesity in children: is it real or a case of over diagnosis?

Objective: To determine whether obesity among children is associated with an increased incidence of asthma.
