Background: While the value of Des-γ-carboxy prothrombin in hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis has been widely acknowledged, whether or how Des-γ-carboxy prothrombin could be used in recurrence evaluation remains largely unexplored.

Methods: We performed a multicenter retrospective analysis including an Exploration Cohort (1074 patients, 5133 Des-γ-carboxy prothrombin measurements) and a Validation Cohort (263 patients, 612 Des-γ-carboxy prothrombin measurements) to investigate whether Des-γ-carboxy prothrombin could evaluate patients' prognosis. We introduced the Des-γ-carboxy prothrombin dynamic rate as a normalized quantitative measurement of Des-γ-carboxy prothrombin dynamic change.

Longitudinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is essential for studying the early development of the brain, as it allows to observe and analyze how the brain changes over time. Unfortunately, existing cohort research suffers from lacking sufficient MRI data for studying the development of fetal brains. Apart from research data, a viable alternative is the use of large-scale clinical fetal brain MRI data, which is currently the primary source for longitudinal studies.

Prolactin-releasing peptide receptor (PrRPR), a notable member of the class A peptide-GPCR (G-protein-coupled receptor) family, regulates diverse physiology functions upon activation by PrRP. Herein, we reveal that PrRPR could engage with not only the G pathway but also the G pathway. We further resolve the structures of the PrRPR-G and PrRPR-G complexes using cryoelectron microscopy (cryo-EM), with PrRP31 as the endogenous ligand.

The immunosuppressive microenvironment in pancreatic cancer, characterized by low tumor-specific T cells and excessive fibrosis, limits the effectiveness of immunotherapy. Here, three datasets and multi-immunofluorescence staining of tissue microarrays in pancreatic cancer indicate that mesothelin (MSLN) expression negatively correlates with cytotoxic T cells in tumor. Anti-MSLN antibody (αMSLN) treatment of pancreatic cancer in vivo can significantly increase T cell infiltration.

Polymer-based dielectric films are increasingly demanded for devices under high electric fields used in new energy vehicles, photovoltaic grid connections, oil and gas exploration, and aerospace. However, leakage current is one of the significant factors limiting the improvement of the insulation performance. This paper tested the leakage current and condensed state structure characteristics of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films and obtained the nonlinear characteristics of leakage current of BOPP films in the range of 40-440 V/μm and 40-110 °C.

Background: Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) can induce accelerated regeneration of future liver remnant (FLR) and effectively reduce the occurrence of liver failure due to insufficient FLR after hepatectomy, thereby increasing the probability of radical resection for previously inoperable patients with liver cancer. However, the exact mechanism by which ALPPS accelerates liver regeneration remains elusive.

Methods: A review of the literature was performed utilizing MEDLINE/PubMed and Web of Science databases in March of 2024.

Background: Studying influential nodes (I-nodes) in brain networks is of great significance in the field of brain imaging. Most existing studies consider brain connectivity hubs as I-nodes such as the regions of high centrality or rich-club organization. However, this approach relies heavily on prior knowledge from graph theory, which may overlook the intrinsic characteristics of the brain network, especially when its architecture is not fully understood.

Interface engineering, by modulating defect distribution and impedance at interfaces and inducing interfacial polarization, has proven to be an effective strategy for optimizing dielectric properties. However, the inherent incompatibility between heterogeneous phases presents a significant challenge in constructing multi-heterointerfaces and understanding how their distribution influences dielectric performance. Herein, we constructed an EGaIn@Ni/NiO/GaO composite structure by employing a low-intensity ultrasound-assisted galvanic replacement reaction followed by high-temperature annealing.

Advances in singe-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) have made it possible to solve the structures of numerous Family A and Family B G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in complex with G proteins and arrestins, as well as several Family C GPCRs. Determination of these structures has been facilitated by the presence of large extramembrane components (such as G protein, arrestin, or Venus flytrap domains) in these complexes that aid in particle alignment during the processing of the cryo-EM data. In contrast, determination of the inactive state structure of Family A GPCRs is more challenging due to the relatively small size of the seven transmembrane domain (7TM) and to the surrounding detergent micelle that, in the absence of other features, make particle alignment impossible.
