Aza-BODIPYs represent a class of fluorophores in which the π-conjugated system is rigidified and stabilized by a boron atom. A promising strategy to enhance their fluorescence properties involves replacing the boron atom with a metal ion. Here, we describe the synthesis and characterization of a water-soluble derivative where the metal is a gallium(III) ion, termed WazaGaY (water-soluble aza-GaDIPY).

The combination of the two metals - titanium(IV) and platinum (IV) - in a single molecule led to a synergistic biological activity (higher anti-proliferative properties than a mixture of each of the corresponding monometallic complexes). This study also investigated the benefits of associating a metal-free terpyridine moiety (with intrinsic biological activity) with a water-soluble titanocene fragment.

Stoichiometric reactivity studies conducted on cyclohexyl chloride as a model suggest that 1 b dechlorinates PVC by initial chloride abstraction, followed by hydride transfer to the cationic PVC chain from EtSiH. Consumer items such as pipe fitting, vinyl disc or electric cable insulation undergo either dechlorination or hydrosilylation of the carbonyl-containing copolymer (polyvinyl acetate) or plasticizer (phthalate).

The reaction of the phenol-amidine proligands with aluminum and zinc alkyls gave mono- or bis-ligated complexes depending on the metal/ligand ratio used. The solid-state structure of four proligands and thirteen Zn and Al complexes has been determined by X-Ray diffraction analysis.

The former, in its diprotonated form (FAlenH), reacts with AlMe to afford a zwitterionic dimethyldiphenoxyaluminate complex with the FAlen ligand monoprotonated and in a bidentate κ, fashion. A phenylene-bridged proligand behaves differently, yielding a neutral methylaluminum complex bearing a κ,,-coordinated FAlen ligand.

Background: Clinical pharmacists have a pivotal role in the management of the patient's medication. However, it is necessary to know how pharmacist-mediated deprescribing could be implemented in a hospital setting according to hospital physicians.
Objective: To explore physicians' views on the involvement of hospital pharmacists in the deprescribing process using the example of PPIs.
Background: Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are one of the most widely prescribed drug classes in the community and at hospital. The significant misuse of PPIs requires the implementation for a deprescribing strategy. Numerous studies aiming at evaluating the impact of deprescribing interventions have been set up, implying a precisely known evolution of consumption of PPIs in the population studied without intervention.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAza-boron-dipyrromethenes (Aza-BODIPYs) are an increasingly studied class of fluorophores. They can be seen as an azadipyrromethene ("aza-DIPY") ligand rigidified by a metalloid, a boron atom. Based on this idea, a series of complexes of group 13 metals (aluminum and gallium) have been synthesized and characterized.

Methods: A prospective study was conducted for 4 months. Patients admitted to the hospital for elective or emergency surgery, who had medication reconciliation performed by the clinical pharmacy team and who were prescribed proton pump inhibitors before admission were included.
Ti-imido complex [TiCl(NBu)(BIPP)] [; BIPP = bis(iminophosphoranyl)phosphide ligand] reacts with terminal alkynes R-C≡CH (R = phenyl, isopropenyl, cyclopropyl, and 2-pyridyl) via P-P bond cleavage of the BIPP ligand. The resulting complexes [TiCl(NPN')(NPhPPh)] () contain a pincer-type NPN' phosphide ligand that incorporates the terminal alkyne and the imido ligand from complex . Complexes feature two chiral centers (Ti and P) with interdependent absolute configurations; thus, they are formed stereoselectively.

However, achieving bone block healing is critical for successful shoulder stabilization and return to sport. The purpose of this study was to assess and compare the healing rates and positioning of the coracoid bone block fixed with cortical suture buttons that were either manually tensioned (using a knot pusher) or mechanically tensioned (using a tensioning device) during arthroscopic Latarjet procedures.

To relieve those areas most affected, the French government organized transfers of critical patients, notably by plane or helicopter. Our objective was to investigate the impact of such transfers on the pulse oximetric saturation (SpO)-to-inspired fraction of oxygen (FiO) ratio among transferred critical patients with COVID-19.

The bonding situation was studied by DFT (Density Functional Theory) using EDA-NOCV (Energy Decomposition Analysis with Natural Orbitals for Chemical Valence). The polar Ti-N bond in 1 a-c features an unusual inversion of σ and π bond strengths responsible for the balance between stability and reactivity in these coordinatively unsaturated species.

Background: The results of surgical treatment of shoulder injuries in high-level male gymnasts have not yet been documented.
Purpose: To evaluate the functional and subjective results after surgical treatment of shoulder injuries in high-level gymnasts and the possibilities to return to sport at the same level.
Study Design: Case series; Level of evidence, 4.
Background: Weightbearing and traction-suspension movements with the upper limbs put considerable demands upon the shoulder region of high-level gymnasts. The diagnosis of instability in these gymnasts may be difficult because voluntary inferior shoulder subluxation is part of their training and is needed to perform some acrobatic figures.
Purpose: To (1) assess the epidemiology of shoulder lesions requiring surgery, (2) describe the types of injuries and assess which maneuvers and equipment put the gymnast most at risk, and (3) present a pathoanatomic classification of the injured shoulder in high-level male gymnasts.
The synthesis and characterization of a range of bis(iminophosphoranyl)phosphide () group 4 and coinage metals complexes is reported. ligands bind group 4 metals in a pseudo -fashion, and the central phosphorus atom enables the formation of d-d heterobimetallic complexes. Various DFT computational tools (including AIM, ELF and NCI) show that the phosphorus-metal interaction is either electrostatic (Ti) or dative (Au, Cu).

The reaction of phosphasalen proligands (1a-1c)H with Zr(CHPh) led to different products depending on the nature of the N,N-linker in the ligand. In the case of ethylene-linked phosphasalen, octahedral Zr complex 2a formed as a single stereoisomer in trans geometry.

Methods: We studied a retrospective series of 41 patients (33 male, 8 female) with recurrent anterior shoulder instability after Bristow (n = 7) or Latarjet (n = 34) coracoid bone block treated with unipolar (isolated Bankart, n = 22) or bipolar (Bankart + Hill-Sachs remplissage, n = 19) arthroscopic stabilization.
Results: The mean follow-up was 72 (25-208) months.
Purpose: To evaluate mid-term clinical outcomes, complications, bone-block healing, and positioning using suture-button fixation for an arthroscopic Latarjet procedure.
Methods: Patients with traumatic recurrent anterior instability and glenoid bone loss underwent guided arthroscopic Latarjet with suture-button fixation. We included patients with anterior shoulder instability, glenoid bone loss >20%, and radiographic and clinical follow-up minimum of 24 months.
Tame d phosphidotitanocene cations stabilized with a pendant tertiary phosphane arm are reported. These compounds were obtained by one-electron oxidation of d precursors with [Cp Fe][BPh ]. The electronic structure of these compounds was studied experimentally (EPR, UV/Vis, and NMR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis) and through DFT calculations.
