Evaluate the impact of adjusting the overall dose, Gypsum Fibrosum [Mineral; Gypsum] (ShiGao, SG) dose, and L. [Rosaceae; Semen Armeniacae Amarum] (KuXingRen, KXR) dose on the efficacy of MaXingShiGan Decoction (MXSG) in treating children with bronchial pneumonia (Wind-heat Blocking the Lung), in order to provide strategy supported by high-quality evidence for the selection of rational clinical doses of MXSG. Based on the basic dose of MXSG, we conducted three randomized, double-blind, dose parallel controlled, multicenter clinical trials, involving adjustments to the overall dose, SG dose, and KXR dose, and included 120 children with bronchial pneumonia (Wind-heat Blocking the Lung) respectively.

Objective: To investigate the effect of dichloroacetate (DCA) on Wilms' tumor (WT) G401 cells.

Methods: CCK-8 assay was used to detect the influence of DCA on G401 cells viability and 10 mmol/L DCA was selected for subsequent experiments. The expression of glycolysis-related enzymes, such as hexokinase 2 (HK2), pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2), lactic acid dehydrogenase A (LDHA), pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 1 (PDK1), and pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH), were detected by qRT-PCR and western blot.

The clinical prognosis of breast cancer is closely related to its infiltrating immune status. The study sought to explore tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TILs) and immune-associated genes in the tumor microenvironment of breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA). The ESTIMATE algorithm was used to evaluate the microenvironment of breast cancer patients in TCGA database.

Cancer-associated bone disease is a frequent occurrence in cancer patients and is associated with pain, bone fragility, loss, and fractures. However, whether primary or non-bone metastatic gastric cancer induces bone loss remains unclear. Here, we collected clinical evidence of bone loss by analyzing serum and X-rays of 25 non-bone metastatic gastric cancer patients.

Background: 21-Hydroxylase deficiency (21-OHD) caused by the CYP21A2 gene mutations is the most common form of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. It is an autosomal recessive disorder that results in defective synthesis of cortisol and aldosterone. The incidences of various CYP21A2 gene mutations and the genotype-phenotype correlations vary among different populations.

The aim of the present study was to enhance the understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal hereditary spherocytosis (HS). Gene sequencing and analysis was performed for the crucial splicing signals on the exons and introns of the 302 known pathogenic genes [including , and ] that are associated with this genetic deficiency of erythrocytes. A 26-day-old female presented with jaundice, anemia, an increased count in peripheral blood reticulocyte and spherocytes and a positive acidified glycerol hemolysis test.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study looked at liver enzyme patterns in 16,383 Chinese children and adolescents (ages 4-18) to understand how these enzymes relate to health issues like metabolic syndrome.
  • - Researchers used data like weight, height, and blood tests, applying a machine learning technique to find six different patterns of elevated liver enzymes among participants.
  • - Two main groups were identified: one group showed elevated liver enzymes without metabolic syndrome features, while the other had increased liver enzymes along with significant metabolic syndrome characteristics. Further research on the second group's health risks is needed.

Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most common malignant neoplasm and the second leading cause of cancer death. Identification of key molecular signaling pathways involved in gastric carcinogenesis and progression facilitates early GC diagnosis and the development of targeted therapies for advanced GC patients. Emerging evidence has revealed a close correlation between forkhead box (FOX) proteins and cancer development.
