Rodents of Bahir Dar Blue Nile River Millennium Park, Ethiopia.

Background: Rodents are mammals of the order Rodentia, which are found in all continents except Antarctica. They are the most diverse groups of mammals representing 41% of all mammals and they are known with 33 families, 481 genera, and about 2277 species. The present study was conducted from December 2018 to August 2019 both during the dry and wet seasons using Sherman traps and live traps.

Unlabelled: The intracellular bacterium is a common symbiont of many arthropods and nematodes, well studied for its impacts on host reproductive biology. However, its broad success as a vertically transmitted infection cannot be attributed to manipulations of host reproduction alone. Using the model and their natively associated strain " Mel", we show that infection supports fly development and buffers against nutritional stress.

Preoperative anxiety and its associated factors among women undergoing elective caesarean delivery: a cross-sectional study.

Background: Anxiety is a behavioral expression of tension and unpleasant emotion that arises from multifactorial dimensions that might increase the mortality of patients during anesthesia and surgery. This study aimed to verify the prevalence and associated factors of preoperative anxiety among women undergoing elective cesarean delivery.

Method: A cross-sectional study design was conducted on a total of 392 patients who underwent elective cesarean delivery in Debre Tabor Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, in North Central Ethiopia from October 15, 2020, to September 15, 2021.

Early intraoperative hypotension and its associated factors among surgical patients undergoing surgery under general anesthesia: An observational study.

Background: Early intraoperative hypotension (eIOH) is a common complication of general anesthesia and is significantly associated with postoperative morbidity and mortality. The incidence of eIOH was high, especially in resource-limited settings. Identifying the factors associated with the occurrence of eIOH might allow avoidance and planning of a timely treatment of it.

Antiemetic Prophylaxis Practice and its Associated Factors Among Health Professionals in Referral Hospitals of North West Ethiopia: Multicenter Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: The practice of antiemetic prophylaxis within the prevention and management of postoperative nausea and vomiting is important for optimal care of surgical patients. The poor practice of antiemetic prophylaxis on postoperative nausea and vomiting prevention come up with complications, reduce patient satisfaction, and increase overall costs. This study aims to assess practice and associated factors of antiemetic prophylaxis among health professionals in referral hospitals of Northwest Ethiopia.

The Knowledge of Health Professionals About the Application of Cricoid Pressure in a Low-Income Country: A Single-Center Survey Study.

Background: The application of cricoid pressure requires good knowledge and practice of health professionals who are working in operation theatres to prevent pulmonary aspiration. This study aims to assess the application of cricoid pressure knowledge and practice in health professionals who are working in the operation theatres.

Methods: This survey-based study was conducted in health care professionals who are working in the operation theatre of Debre Tabor Comprehensive Specialized Hospital from November 1 to December 1, 2020.

One-Third of Perinatal Women Living with HIV Had Perinatal Depression in Gondar Town Health Facilities, Northwest Ethiopia.

Background: Depression is the most common co-morbidity among perinatal women living with HIV. It affects client's adherence to care and treatment, which results in increased viral load; further exposing women to opportunistic infections that reduce quality-of-life. A cumulative effect of these may increase mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Availability of Emergency Drugs and Essential Equipment in Intensive Care Units in Hospitals of Ethiopia: A Multicenter Cross-Sectional Study.

Purpose: Emergency drugs and essential equipment are important to successfully manage patients in the intensive care unit (ICUs). The absence of these emergency drugs and essential equipment might result in mortality and morbidity which is more compounded in resource-limited settings. This study aims to assess the availability of emergency drugs and essential equipment in ICUs in hospitals in Ethiopia.

The emerging technique of micro electro mechanical systems throws a lot of challenging in the micro and nanoscale of machining. The present research explores the development of hybrid aluminium composite with hard particles boron carbide and silicon carbide in 10% volume fraction, and drilling of micro-holes using micro Electro Chemical Machining (µECM) process. The experiments were conducted based on Taguchi's design of experiments.
