Decannulation following tracheostomy is an important transition. Subcutaneous emphysema (SE) following decannulation has been rarely reported. We, herein, report a case of massive subcutaneous emphysema following decannulation of a short-term tracheostomy, discuss the various decannulation methods and causes of SE.

Anesthesiologists and surgeons take various precautions to prevent its occurrence and employ various methods for its early detection. They include direct visualization of the nerve intraoperatively, use of intraoperative nerve monitoring, and post-extubation visualization of vocal cord mobility by use of direct or indirect methods.

To compare the efficacy of conventional Macintosh laryngoscope with Airtraq videolaryngoscope for visualization of laryngeal structures to rule out recurrent laryngeal nerve injury at the end of thyroidectomy. This randomized double-blind control study was conducted following IEC-Human approval, prospective CTRI registration and written informed consent from participants. This systematic review was undertaken to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of awake PP along with NIV in them.
Materials And Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted from the inception of COVID-19 until 15 August 2021.
Pott's disease is the most common granulomatous spine infection caused by tubercle bacilli and is a common site of osseous tuberculosis, accounting for 50-60% of cases. The delay in establishing diagnosis and management results in complications such as spinal cord compression and spinal deformity. The aim of this narrative review is to discuss the perioperative concerns in patients for spine surgery.
