Are Food Pantries the New Grocery Stores for Multi-Generational Families with Children? Disparities in Emergency Food Assistance Reliance Based on Household Composition.

We analyzed county food pantry use data for 2019 and 2020 (n= 1,169,568 pantry visits) to explore differences in pantry use among four types of households determined by presence of seniors and/or children. Our results show household composition had a significant (p<0.001) impact on food pantry utilization, with multi-generational families with children's pantry reliance per year higher than any other group in both 2019 and 2020.

Development of an Ultrasound Imaging Atlas for Grading Osteoarthritis in the First Metatarsophalangeal Joint.

Objective: Ultrasound (US) imaging may play a fundamental role in the earlier detection and assessment of first metatarsophalangeal joint (MTPJ) osteoarthritis (OA) because of its ability to depict tissue-specific morphologic changes before the point of irreversible structural damage. However, the role of US in supporting the diagnosis of OA in foot joints has not been clearly defined. The aims of this study were to develop a semiquantitative US atlas (the AUT ultrasound imaging [AUTUSI] atlas) to grade the degree of osteoarthritic change in the first MTPJ and to evaluate the intraexaminer and interexaminer reproducibility of using the atlas.

Peripheral blood immune parameters, response, and adverse events after neoadjuvant chemotherapy plus durvalumab in early-stage triple-negative breast cancer.

Purpose: We evaluated T- and B-cell receptor (TCR and BCR) repertoire diversity and 38 serum cytokines in pre- and post-treatment peripheral blood of 66 patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy plus durvalumab and assessed associations with pathologic response and immune-related adverse events (irAEs) during treatment.

Methods: Genomic DNA was isolated from buffy coat for TCR and BCR clonotype profiling using the Immunoseq platform and diversity was quantified with Pielou's evenness index. Background: Medulloblastoma (MB) is the most malignant childhood brain cancer. Group 3 MB subtype accounts for about 25% of MB diagnoses and is associated with the most unfavorable outcomes. We aimed to test borehole magnetic resonance (BMR) method for determining hydraulic parameters (porosity, permeability, and hydraulic conductivity) required for hydrogeological modeling in two distinct crystalline rock environments. These sites comprise Proterozoic basement rocks of different compositions: mafic rocks at the Sakatti mining development site in northern Finland and felsic rocks at the Olkiluoto Island nuclear repository site in southwest Finland. Carbonyl Posttranslational Modification Associated With Early-Onset Type 1 Diabetes Autoimmunity.

Inflammation and oxidative stress in pancreatic islets amplify the appearance of various posttranslational modifications to self-proteins. In this study, we identified a select group of carbonylated islet proteins arising before the onset of hyperglycemia in NOD mice. Of interest, we identified carbonyl modification of the prolyl-4-hydroxylase β subunit (P4Hb) that is responsible for proinsulin folding and trafficking as an autoantigen in both human and murine type 1 diabetes.

Defining Clinical and Immunological Predictors of Poor Immune Responses to COVID-19 mRNA Vaccines in Patients with Primary Antibody Deficiency.

Immune responses to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) mRNA vaccines in primary antibody deficiencies (PADs) are largely unknown. We investigated antibody and CD4 T-cell responses specific for SARS-CoV-2 spike protein (S) before and after vaccination and associations between vaccine response and patients' clinical and immunological characteristics in PADs. The PAD cohort consisted of common variable immune deficiency (CVID) and other PADs, not meeting the criteria for CVID diagnosis (oPADs).

Comparison of strength testing modalities in dysferlinopathy.

Introduction/aims: Dysferlinopathy demonstrates heterogeneity in muscle weakness between patients, which can progress at different rates over time. Changing muscle strength due to disease progression or from an investigational product is associated with changing functional ability. The purpose of this study was to compare three methods of strength testing used in the Clinical Outcome Study (COS) for dysferlinopathy to understand which method and which muscle groups were most sensitive to change over time.

Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) is overexpressed on a number of human cancers, and often is indicative of a poor outcome. Treatment of EGFR/HER2 overexpressing cancers includes monoclonal antibody therapy (cetuximab/trastuzumab) either alone or in conjunction with other standard cancer therapies. While monoclonal antibody therapy has been proven to be efficacious in the treatment of EGFR/HER2 overexpressing tumors, drawbacks include the lack of long-lasting immunity and acquired resistance to monoclonal therapy.
