Background: As milder cases of adolescent depression do not meet treatment thresholds for specialist mental health services, young people often receive support from non-qualified professionals in third-sector/voluntary agencies. Early psychological interventions to meet growing demand with limited resources are crucial.

Objectives: The study aimed to explore the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of interpersonal counselling for adolescents by (1) assessing the feasibility and acceptability of trial procedures; (2) exploring the delivery of, and differences between, interpersonal counselling for adolescents and treatment as usual; (3) evaluating the extent of contamination of the control arm and if it should be mitigated against in a future trial; and (4) investigating whether the interval estimate of benefit of interpersonal counselling for adolescents over treatment as usual in depression post treatment includes a clinically significant effect.

Background: Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health conditions in childhood, but most children with anxiety disorders do not access evidence-based interventions. The delivery of therapeutic interventions via digital technologies has been proposed to significantly increase timely access to evidence-based treatment. Lumi Nova (BfB Labs Limited) is a digital therapeutic intervention designed to deliver evidence-based anxiety treatment for those aged 7-12 years through a mobile app incorporating immersive gaming technology.

Barriers and facilitators in the implementation of youth and young adult models of mental health care.

Aim: It is increasingly recognised that traditional models of mental health (MH) care, with a service transition at age 18 years, may not reflect best practice. The literature supports a move towards youth and young adult focused models of MH care, for young people up to the age of 25, which specifically cater to the unique psychosocial and developmental needs of this population. Delivering a sleep intervention across a youth mental health service using non-expert practitioners: A service evaluation.

Aims: Poor sleep is highly prevalent in young people and increases risk of mental health difficulties, yet access to sleep interventions remains limited. This paper evaluates the use of a sleep intervention delivered by non-expert practitioners in a secondary care youth mental health service.

Evaluating cognitive analytic therapy within a primary care psychological therapy service.

Objectives: Cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) is used within UK mental health settings as a treatment for transdiagnostic complex psychological presentations. However, it is not routinely offered by the NHS Talking Therapies, for anxiety and depression (NHS Talking Therapies) programme which provides psychological treatments for common mental health difficulties. Impact of Changing Distance-Learning Formats in Physical Therapy Professional Education.

Aims: In early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a majority of higher education to shift content delivery formats to allow for social distancing to decrease spread of the virus. The purpose of this investigation was to discover physical therapy students' perceived impact from changing from a synchronous videoconferencing format to a more hybrid program format.

Methods: A qualitative case study design bounded by the time of switching formats due to the pandemic was chosen (March 2020 through September 2020).

Discussions regarding gonadal function and possible disease or treatment-related ovarian or testicular dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, and possible future infertility can be challenging in the sickle cell disease (SCD) pediatric care setting. A construct that stratifies topics into those that are time sensitive and those that require reproductive care expertise vs address gonadal health as a part of normal SCD care may be helpful. Pediatric health care discussions of gonadal function/dysfunction for patients with SCD can include (1) time-sensitive fertility consults preceding the start of gonadotoxic therapy and (2) targeted discussions at key time points during normally scheduled hematology clinic visits.

Neuregulin-1 attenuates hemolysis- and ischemia induced-cerebrovascular inflammation associated with sickle cell disease.

Objectives: Individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) are at severely heightened risk for cerebrovascular injury and acute cerebrovascular events, including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, potentially leading to impaired development and life-long physical and cognitive disabilities. Cerebrovascular injury specific to SCD includes inflammation caused by underlying conditions of chronic hemolysis and reduced cerebrovascular perfusion. Introduction: The ambulance service provides vital front line mental healthcare for young people in crisis, but there is a lack of evidence to guide best practice in this area. The lived experiences of service users can offer important insights to guide service development, therefore we carried out a qualitative evaluation of care provided by the ambulance service to young people experiencing a mental health-related emergency.

Patient safety and quality care for children with intellectual disability: An action research study.

Children with intellectual disability experience significant challenges in accessing and receiving high-quality healthcare leading to poorer health outcomes and negative patient experiences. Families of these children often report a need for healthcare staff to better understand, communicate, and collaborate for better care while staff acknowledge a lack of training. To address this, we utilised an action research framework with a pre- and post- survey to evaluate an integrated continuing professional development and quality improvement program combining strategies from education, behavioural psychology and quality improvement that was delivered in two departments within a tertiary children's Hospital in Metropolitan Sydney in 2019-2020.
